The ceremony was witnessed by Joseph Yardley who signed with his mark and Fredk Jas Roberts. William was a miller, both he and Elizabeth gave their address as Duddeston.      Edward Rhodes was born in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.1 He married Ida Mary Moore, daughter of Arthur John Moore and Sarah Dowson, Edward was a Lythographic artist and worked for pettys of Leeds.1 Edward and Ida moved with the boys to Manchester. Later sadly they split and Ida and the boys returned to Leeds. Edward remarried.1

Both signed the birth registration, and they were married two months later.2 She was the daughter of John Greathead and Ethel Egglestone. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 40 Pine Street, Grange Villa, Chester le Street, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of John Greathead.3 Amelia lost her mother and four siblings in 1915.4 She married Frank White in 1928 in St Bartholomew, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, Frank and Amelia had four boys and two girls.5,6,7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Amelia was listed as living at 8 Ardhill Moor Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England with her husband Frank. Frank was a joiner living with his wife. His father in law who was described as incaacitated was living with them.8 Amelia died in October 1991 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England, aged 85.6,9

     Edna Effie Pearl Rourke was born about 1892 in Canada.1 She was the daughter of W H Rourke and Eliza L Arney.2 She married Howard Greathead, son of William Greathead and Amanda Schatz, on 4 June 1913 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, Howard was a mechanic. The ceremony was witnessed by Laura M Greathead of Southampton and Charma Roue from Park Head. Howard and Pearl went on to have a family of two girls and a boy and lived in Hamilton, Ontario.3,4 In the census of 1 June 1921 in 73 Barnesdale, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, she was listed as the wife of Howard Greathead.5

     Elizabeth Hannah Haydon was born in 1858 in St Thomas, Bristol, Somerset, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Robert Haydon and Eliza Hazel Greethead.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in 39 Back Street, St Nicholas, Bristol, Somerset, England, she was listed as the daughter of Eliza Hazel Haydon.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 44 Industrial Dwellings, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England, she was listed as the step daughter The head of the household was listed as George Stewart, a 27 year old seaman from Scotland. Eliza was listed as his wife and given the surname of Stewart. All the children were described as scholars with a surname of Haydon and step children of George. Was this an out of marriage liaison? It would appear that George married Elizabeth the daughter in 1873 and they had a son William shortly after.4 She married George Stewart in 1873 in South Shields, Durham, England.5 In the census of 7 April 1881 in Commercial Road, South Shields, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of George Stewart.6 She married Henry Bright in 1885 in Sunderland, Durham, England, It would appear from the GRO index that Elizabeth married Henry using her maiden name of Haydon.7,8 Her father Robert died on 13 April 1887.9,10 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Bright.11 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Bright.12 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 8 Clementine Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Bright.13 Elizabeth died in 1923 in Sunderland, Durham, England.14
