     Bernard Joseph Greathead was born on 12 December 1947 in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA.3 He was the son of Arthur Thomas Greathead and Elsie A Farnan. Bernie left high school early so that he could help raise his brothers and sisters after his mother became ill. Later in life, he then helped raise his nieces Carla Roman, Mechelle Desroches and nephew Joey Greathead.3 He started his working career in housekeeping at the former Saint Joseph Hospital in Lowell and then at Rex Liquors for many years. He retired in 2008 from Oak Properties in the apartment maintenance department. He spent the last 13 years in retirement doing what he enjoyed most, caring for his beloved great nephews Adrian and Avery. He spent many hours rocking in his chair, playing his favorite games with them by his side.3 Bernard lived in 2017 in Lowell.3 Bernard died on 13 November 2021 in Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, aged 73 nexpectedly. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his quick-witted comebacks and his kind heart. He was a selfless man, always putting others first. He spent his free time exploring the city by foot. You could be sure to come across him in his travels, always declining a ride because walking kept him young.3
