     Margaret Haydon was born on 17 April 1875 in 43 Tyne Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, her father was described as a SEaman Merchant Service.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Haydon and Eliza Hazel Greethead.¹ In the census of 3 April 1881 in 57 Brunswick Street, South Shields, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Eliza Hazel Haydon.⁴ In the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, she was listed as the sister in law of Henry Bright Margaret was a domestic servant.⁵ She married Edmund Hepple Almond, son of Joseph Almond, on 12 July 1898 in The Register Office, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, after a certificate had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by John White and Cecilia Davies. Edmund was a labourer in the iron works and appears to have fibbed about his age. The certificate states he was 21 yyears old whereas he was only nineteen years old. Both Margaret and Edmund gave their address as 9 Seaham Street, Stockton on Tees.^3,6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 19 Gas Street, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Edmund Hepple Almond.⁷ In the census of 2 April 1911 in 45 Garrick Street, South Shields, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Edmund Hepple Almond.⁸ She died in July 1958 in South Shields, Durham, England, aged 83.^9,3

     Harriett Haydon was born about 1862 in Bristol, Somerset, England.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Haydon and Eliza Hazel Greethead.¹ In the census of 2 April 1871 in 44 Industrial Dwellings, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England, she was listed as the step daughter The head of the household was listed as George Stewart, a 27 year old seaman from Scotland. Eliza was listed as his wife and given the surname of Stewart. All the children were described as scholars with a surname of Haydon and step children of George. Was this an out of marriage liaison? It would appear that George married Elizabeth the daughter in 1873 and they had a son William shortly after.² In the census of 3 April 1881 in 57 Brunswick Street, South Shields, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Eliza Hazel Haydon Harriett was a domestic servant.³ She married Victor Raddick in 1882 in South Shields, Durham, England.^1,4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 164 Hope Street, Jarrow, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Victor Raddick.⁵ In the census of 31 March 1901 in 164 Hope Street, Jarrow, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of Victor Raddick.⁶ She died in 1901 in South Shields, Durham, England.⁷

     Henry Bright was born about 1858 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.² He married Elizabeth Hannah Haydon, daughter of Robert Haydon and Eliza Hazel Greethead, in 1885 in Sunderland, Durham, England, It would appear from the GRO index that Elizabeth married Henry using her maiden name of Haydon.^1,3 Henry was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, Henry was described as a Seas Steward living with his wife and his son and her sister Margaret.⁴ Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, Henry was listed as a general labourer living with his wife and a boarder called William Stewart and yet on the previous census he was described as Henry's son. I believe William was Elizabeth's son by a previous marriage. Also strangely Henry's place of birth is listed as Bath, Somerset not Hartlepool prevously stated.⁵ Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 8 Clementine Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, Henry was a stoker at the pepper mills living with his wife and son in their three roomed home. William Stewart was lodging with them, I believe he was Elizabeth's son by a previous marriage. William was a driller in the shipyard.⁶

     William Stewart was born in 1875 in Sunderland, Durham, England.^1,2 He was the son of George Stewart and Elizabeth Hannah Haydon.¹ In the census of 7 April 1881 in Commercial Road, South Shields, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of George Stewart.³ In the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Henry Bright William was a scholar.⁴ In the census of 31 March 1901 in 16 Elgin Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, he was listed as the boarder of Henry Bright William was described as a general labourer. Why he was described as a boarder, maybe they had just told him Henry was not his Dad?⁵ In the census of 2 April 1911 in 8 Clementine Street, Sunderland, Durham, England, he was listed as the lodger of Henry Bright I believe he was Elizabeth's son by a previous marriage. He was a driller in the shipyard.⁶ William Stewart inherited the estate from the Stewarts of Edinburgh, Provision Merchants who owned property off Princes Street in Edinburgh, land in Australia and tea plantations in Asia. George Stewart his father (the humble seaman) was one of the two Stewart sons. The business was handled by Messers. Buchan and Buchan, 13 Alva Street, Edinburgh in the mid fifties. William never married.⁷

     Carole A Wilkinson married John Henry Greathead, son of Edward Henry Greathead and Gladys Elizabeth I Wright, in 1968 in Northumberland, England.¹ Her husband John died on 1974 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.² She married Danty W Bryant in 1976 in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England, Carole's girls seem to have taken their mothers new surname.³

     Dora Grace Abbott was born on 21 February 1884.¹ She was the daughter of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ She died on 22 February 1914 in Alicetown, Lower Hutt, New Zealand, aged 30.¹ She was buried in St James Anglican Churchyard, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.¹

     Edith Minnie Abbott was born on 21 July 1886.¹ She was the daughter of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ She married Clarence Edward Buckingham on 27 July 1905.¹ Her husband Clarence died on 5 July 1942 aged 61.¹ She died on 20 September 1965 aged 79.¹

     Esther Abbott was born on 4 April 1889.¹ She was the daughter of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ She died on 28 April 1889.¹

     Robert John Abbott was born on 10 November 1890.¹ He was the son of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ He died on 16 May 1966 aged 75.¹

     Mary Maud Abbott was born on 16 August 1893.¹ She was the daughter of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ She died on 30 November 1893.¹ She was buried in St James Anglican Churchyard, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.¹

     Mabel Louisa Abbott was born on 21 February 1896.¹ She was the daughter of William Abbott and Esther Stevens.¹ She married George Thomas Dalton Baker, son of Aaron Baker and Betsey Mary Ann Dalton, on 18 May 1921.¹ Her husband George died on 22 June 1971 aged 68.¹ She died on 19 July 1973 aged 77.¹
