     William Ferris was born in Northern Ireland.2,3 He married Sarah Jane Cosgrave, daughter of Hugh Cosgrave and Helen McCullough, on 23 June 1877 in St Patrick's Catholic Church, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.4,5 William died in 1890 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, William was listed as a deceased plumber on his son William's marriage certificate when he wed Sarah Ballard in 1908 and as dying when his son William was aged 3, when said son signed his natralisation papers in 1958.4,3

     Annie Eileen Ferris was born in 1920.2 She was the daughter of William Ferris and Sarah Ballard.1 She married Cyril Turnbull.1 Annie died in 2003 followed by a funeral service at the Donald V Brown Funeral Home on Saturday 12 April 2003 at 12 noon. Cremation took place at Bayview Crematorium in Burlington.2

James Butler1

     James Butler was born on 3 January 1914 in England.2 James had a brother Martin and sister Mary. They were orphaned at an early age and Mary looked after them to begin with but later the boys were sent to an orphanage. The Catholic Emigration Association (CEA) arranged for the boys to go to Canada. Martin sailed in 1925 aged 17 and was placed with a farm in Quebec. James, aged 15 followed in 1930 and was placed with a farm in Ontario. The CEA later became kown as Nugent Care Adoption Service.2 He married Grace Ferris, daughter of William Ferris and Sarah Ballard.1 James died in 1985 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.3

     Stanley Galuska was born on 8 May 1909.2 He married Norah Ferris, daughter of William Ferris and Sarah Ballard.1 Stanley died on 4 September 1995 aged 86 with a funeral service at St Basil's Catholic Church.2

     Ernie Collins was born about 1924 in Canada he was the son of Percival and Cecily Collins of Ottowa.2 He married Margaret Ferris, daughter of William Ferris and Sarah Ballard.1 Ernie died on 25 October 2011 in Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, Ottowa, Ontario, Canada, He leaves his wife Margaret and a sister, Joyce, of Ottawa. Ernie joined the RCAF during the war and remained in uniform until full retirement. He served in Canada and Iceland during the war but returned to his hometown for postings at National Defence HQ followed by assignments with No. 1 Air Division in France and the United Nations Emergency Force in Egypt. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Saturday October 29th from 2 pm until Service time in the Chapel at 4 p.m.2,3
