Michael Goggins was born on 21 December 1874 in Tuam Number One, Tuam, Galway, Ireland.2,3 He married Sarah Anne Smethurst in 1911 in Hemsworth, Yorkshire, England.4 His wife Sarah died on 8 August 1915 in 88 Margate Street, Grimethorpe, Brierley, Yorkshire, England, from labor pneumonia 4 days and cardiac failure. Her husband was the informant and gave his address as St Mary's Barracks, Chatham. He was a Sapper in 171st Coy, Royal Engineers, an ex coal miner hewer.3,5 Michael died on 15 December 1942 in 174 Croma Street, Grimethorpe, Brierley, Yorkshire, England, aged 67 from myocardisl failure, coronary thrombosis, general arteris sclerosis and chronic bronchitis. He was a coal hewer.6
