On the 23ult, at the residence of Mr John Chipchase, Guelph, Mr Walter McFarlane, to Miss Mary Ann, only daughter of Mr Paul Greathead, of Sedgefield, Durham, England.3 Paul was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Sedgefield, Durham, England, Paul was an almsman.4 He died in 1852 in Stockton, Durham, England.5

     Thomas Greathead was born about 1826 in Heighington, Durham, England.1 He was the son of William Greathead and Jane Cockfield.1 In the census of 7 June 1841 in North side, Bishop Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of William Greathead Thomas was a ropemaker.2,3 Thomas was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Thickley Place, East Thickley, Auckland, Durham, England, Thomas was a farm labourer. His sister in law Ann and her four year old daughter Jane Ann were staying with him, as was Ann's mother. Ann's husband John was a engine driver and lodging in Buckinghamshire, presumably the other end of his railway journey.4,5 He died in 1864 in Stockton, Durham, England.6
