     Arthur Milner Greathead was born on 20 June 1870 in Durban, South Africa.2,4,5 He was the son of Samuel Greathead and Magdaline Henrietta Petronella Britz.3 He married Esther Davenport Blair, daughter of William Blair and Esther Davenport, on 30 March 1899 in Richmond, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.6,4,7,8 Arthur and Esther appeared in 1909 in the Australian electoral rolls as living at 8 Ross Street, Richmond, Richmond North, Yarra, Victoria Arthur was a painter and Esther had home duties.9 Arthur, Esther and their two children Arthur and Esther appeared in the 1924 Australian electoral rolls of 1924 as living at 97 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne, Victoria. Arthur was a labourer and his son a bootmaker and Esther and her daughter had home duties.9 He died on 16 January 1929 in Collingwood, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, aged 58.6,10,11

     Paul Greathead was born on 11 November 1964 in Lancaster, Lancashire, England.2 He was the son of Frank G Greathead and Lilian Atkinson. He died on 15 January 1972 in Lancaster, Lancashire, England, aged 7 Paul was a "special" child, to the effect that he once took his pet fish out for a walk in his back pocket. Paul used to love collecting coal falling from the coal wagons that went up the hill close to where they lived on Scotforth in Lancaster, One day Paul was on his bike and was behind the coal wagon when the driver either backed up or the wagon rolled backwards crushing Paul and killing him.1,3

He married Margaret Hanley on 11 September 1832 in Houghton le Spring, Durham, England.4 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 June 1841 in Outlying Farms & Dwellings, Hole House, (Straggler), Kelloe, Easington, Durham, England, William was an agricultural labourer.2,5 William was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Bank Top, Hipswell, Yorkshire, England, William was a pauper agricultural labourer living with his wife and children.6 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Trimdon Colliery, Sedgefield, Durham, England, William was a cobbler and she lived with his wife and son.7,8 William was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 at Trimdon Colliery, Trimdon, Darlington, Durham, England, William was a cordwainer.9 He died on 14 December 1873 in Trimdon Colliery, Sedgefield, Durham, England, from jaundice that he suffered from for four months and bronchitis for two months. His death was registered by Sarah Lumsden of Haxwell Lanes who signed with her mark, was this his daughter? or a nurse?. He was listed as a farm labourer, did she not know he was a cordwainer by trade or maybe he changed it in later life.10

She was baptized on 21 March 1813 in Hornby, Bedale, Yorkshire, England.1 She married Thomas Liddell about 1830.1 Her husband Thomas died on about 1843 in Trimdon, Sedgefield, Durham, England.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Trimdon, Sedgefield, Durham, England, she was listed as the lodger of Joseph Chaytor.2 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Trimdon, Sedgefield, Durham, England, she was listed as the housekeeper of Joseph Chaytor.3 She married Joseph Chaytor on 14 May 1861 in Stockton, Durham, England, Elizabeth signed with her mark.1,4 Her son William Henry Greathead died on 12 June 1862.5 Her husband Joseph died on 1883 in Stockton, Durham, England.6 She died in 1886 in Stockton, Durham, England.7
