In the census of 2 April 1871 in Uddens House, Chalbury, Dorset, England, he was listed as the son of Edward Harris Greathed.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Winton House, Winchester, Hampshire, England, he was listed as a boarder.5 Edward attended Eton College from September 1883 to July 1886. His house masters were Rev Henry Daman MA who was a master between 1869-1899 and Rev Stuart Alexander Donaldson who was a master between 1878-1904. Edward went to the Royal Military Academy in Woolwich.6 He died on 2 December 1893 in 81 Queens Gate, London, England, aged 23 His usual address was Uddens House, Dorset.7,8,9,3 The will of Edward was proved on 31 January 1894 in London to Sir Algernon Kerr Butler Osborn Greathed and Montague Lewis Parkin.His effects were valued at £7033 4s 2d. It was resworn in June 1897 £5733 0s 7d and again in August £7033 4s 2d.7

In the census of 7 April 1861 in Chicksands Priory, Chicksands, Bedfordshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Robert Osborn.3 Mary, Emily, Harriet and Edith were bridesmaids at their sister Charlotte's wedding to Edward Greathed on 4 August 1869.4 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Uddens House, Chalbury, Dorset, England, she was listed as the sister in law of Edward Harris Greathed.5 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 15 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Robert Osborn.6 She married Francis Basil Pulteney on 22 December 1881.2

He married Elizabeth Myers, daughter of William Smith, on 3 September 1848 in St Peter, Derby, Derbyshire, England, According to the birth certificate of her son Willlam, Elizabeth gave her previous name as Barnes and she was previously Mear, she signed with an X. According to her marriage certificate she declared she was a widow of full age called Elizabeth Myers. Her father was declared as William Smith a labourer. Again she signed with a X. Thomas was a bachelor and horsekeeper.

The ceremony took place after banns had been read and was witnessed by Thomas Woolley and Ann Oliver.1,2,3 LThomas Greathead was a labourer on 19 January 1849.
