     Sushannah Court was born about 1838 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.3 She was the daughter of George Court.4 She married William Greathead, son of Isaac Greathead and Ann Morrall, on 24 May 1863 in St Bartholomew, Edgebaston, Warwickshire, England, after the banns were read. The ceremony was witnessed by Isaac Jarvis and Mary Ann Lawley who both signed with their mark. William was a printer.5,2,6 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Back Lickfield Road, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Greathead.7 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 4 Bellvue Place, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Greathead Sushannah was a Jappannar, who is a person who made japanned objects using the Japanese lacquer technique.8 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 4 Park Lane, Court 2, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Greathead.9 Susannah died in 1897 in Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.10

In the census of 2 April 1871 in Back Lickfield Road, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Greathead.6 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 4 Bellvue Place, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Greathead William was a printers layer on.7 He married Lavinia Maud James, daughter of Henry William James, on 19 February 1888 in St Peter and Paul, Aston, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas Durrant and Ellen Greathead. William was a strip caster and a widower living at 3/4 Buckingham Street and Georgina lived at 52 South Street. The ceremony was witnessed by Albert Greathead and Florence Greathead who were two of William's siblings.17 William was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 26 Court, 2 Brearley Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, William was a brass stripe caster.18 William was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Court 11 No 6 Hospital Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, William was a caster at the brass foundry living with his wife, three daughters and grandson in their three roomed home. The register suggests that William and Georgina had lost three of their six children before 1911, however it also states William and Georgina had been married for 24 years. That was not the case. They married in 1900, so I believe William was referring to his previous marriage to Lavinia which was in 1888 about 24 years before.19 He witnessed the marriage of Edward Smith and Florence May Gray on 26 October 1913 in St Nicolas, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.20,21 William died in 1921 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.22
