He received Probate on 1 August 1925 on her effects in Birmingham. In the census of 2 April 1871 in Back Lickfield Road, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Greathead.5 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 4 Bellvue Place, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Greathead William was a printers layer on.6 He married Lavinia Maud James, daughter of Henry William James, on 19 February 1888 in St Peter and St Pauls Church, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas Durrant and Ellen Greathead. William was a caster living in Park Lane Aston Lavinia lived at Thoomas Street Aston.7 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 6 Park Lane, Court 10, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, William was a ship hoster.8 He witnessed the marriage of George Miles and Elizabeth Greathead on 25 December 1892 in St Peter and St Paul, Aston, Warwickshire, England.9 His wife Lavinia died on 1896 in Kings Norton, Warwickshire, England.10,11 His wife Susannah died on 1897 in Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.12 He witnessed the marriage of Ada Greathead and William Charles Pickman on 31 October 1897 in St Marys Church, Aston, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.13 He married Georgina Probin, daughter of George Probin, on 16 September 1900 in St George, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read . William was a stri caster and a widower living at 3/4 Buckingham Street and Georgina lived at 52 South Street. The ceremony was witnessed by Albert Greathead and Florence Greathead who were two of William's siblings.14 William was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 26 Court, 2 Brearley Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, William was a brass stripe caster.15 William was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Court 11 No 6 Hospital Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, William was a caster at the brass foundry living with his wife, three daughters and grandson in their three roomed home. The register suggests that William and Georgina had lost three of their six children before 1911, however it also states William and Georgina had been married for 24 years. That was not the case. They married in 1900, so I believe William was referring to his previous marriage to Lavinia which was in 1888 about 24 years before.16 He died in 1921 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.17
