     Herbert William Tennant was born in 1905 in Lambeth, London, England.2 He was the son of Walter George Tennant and Mary Ann Pettit Browning.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 26 Waldeck Grove, West Norwood, London, England, he was listed as the son of Walter George Tennant Herbert was at school.3 He died on 27 March 1943 Herbert was an Assistant Storekeeper in the Naval Auxilliary Personnel in the Merchant Navy. He was asigned to HMS Dasher. His service number was 1071070.1,4 Herbert was buried Herbert is commemorated with the Commonwealth War dead in Liverpool Naval Memorial Panel 11 Column 1.4

     Samuel Greatheed was born on 21 November 1718.1,2 He was the son of Samuel Greatheed and Esther Atkinson.1 He was baptised on 17 December 1718 in St Peter, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.3 He married Anna Rhodes on 31 May 1757 in St Andrew, Holborn, London, England, after a licence had been issued. They were married by James Wright. The ceremony was witnessed by V H Perry and Sarah Eglington who signed with her mark. Samuel was from the Parish of St Clement Danes, Westminster and Anna St Andrew, Holborn.4,5,6 His wife Anna died on 1772.1 He married Mary Kirk on 2 August 1777 in St Mary, Aldermary, London, England, after a licence was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas and Sarah Mould.1,7

     John Greatheed was baptised on 23 May 1779 in St Clement Danes, Strand, London, England.2 He was the son of Samuel Greatheed and Mary Kirk.1 The will of John was proved in 1804 John was a seaman on board H.M.S. "Niger", but died Plymouth Hospital; executor - Rev Samuel Greathead, brother who was resident in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire at the time.3 John died in 1804 in Plymouth Hospital, Plymouth, Devon, England.3

     Esther Greatheed was born in 1732.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Greatheed and Esther Atkinson.1 There is a record on the IGI stating Esther married John Barker on 13 January 1755 in Leeds. They had four children two unnamed born 1755 and 1757 both dying in 1758. Rather suspicious!! Alice baptised on 26 August 1759 and Sarah born 9 September 1764 and baptised 5 November 1764.2
