     Anne Elizabeth Welbourn was born on 27 November 1867 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England.2,3 She was the daughter of George Welbourn and Isabella Greathead.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Cottage, Airmyn, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Welbourn.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Bainesse Lodge, Catterick, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Welbourn.5 In the census of 5 April 1891 in The Common, Market Heighton, Pocklington, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Welbourn.6 She married Richard Smith Nessfield on 16 May 1893 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.3,7 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Snaiton Hall, Snaiton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Richard Smith Nessfield.8 Her husband Richard died on 17 November 1910 in 10 Princess Street, Bridlington, Yorkshire, England.9,10 Annie was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 10 Princess Street, Bridlington, Yorkshire, England, Annie lived on private means with her living children in her 10 roomed home.11 Richard signed on 18 October 1914 into 5th H B Batt Yorkshire. He had an eye problem when he signed up but was declared fit to serve. He was 5 foot 7 inches tall and had a chest measurement of 37.5 inches. He was awarded the military medal on 5 January 1917 and his name appeared in the London Gazette. He gave his mother Annie as his next of kin and stated his address as living with her at 39 St John's Walk, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.12 Anne died in June 1950 in Buckrose, Yorkshire, England, aged 82.13

George Robert Evans Turmaine1

     George Robert Evans Turmaine was born on 29 October 1852 in Finsbury, London, England.1 He was the son of Daniel Turmaine and Mary Green Hobbs.1 He was baptised on 8 April 1860 in St Thomas Charterhouse, Finsbury, London, England.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Windsor Terrace, London, England, he was listed as the son of Daniel Turmaine.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 116 Hampstead Road, Marylebone, London, England, he was listed as the son of Daniel Turmaine George was living with his parents and working as a pianoforte maker.2 He married Elizabeth Ann Tozer Gay, daughter of John Higham and Ann Tozer, on 13 January 1874 in Pancras, London, England.1,3 George was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 2 Albany Place, Marylebone, London, England, George was living with his wife and children and was working as a piano forte finisher and regulator. Elizabeth's parents and brother lived as a separate household within the same house.4 George was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 2 Redhill Place, St Pancras, London, England, George was a pianoforte finnisher and was living with his wife and children.5 George was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 30 Wellesley Road, St Pancras, London, England, George was listed as a pianoforte regulator.6 George was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 30 Wellesley Road, St Pancras, London, England, George was a piano forte regulator living with his wife and three children. His daughter Gertrude and son Albert and their families were also in the household living in the six roomed home. The census sheet states George and Elizabeth had twelve children, two of which died before 1911. I know Arthur died in 1890.7 George died in 1923 in Pancras, London, England.8

In the census of 3 April 1881 in 2 Albany Place, Marylebone, London, England, he was listed as the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine George was a scholar living with his parents.2 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 2 Redhill Place, St Pancras, London, England, he was listed as the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine George was a compositor apprentice.3 He married Alice Sarah Mary Burgess, daughter of Benjamin Burgess and Mary Ann Crane, on 17 July 1893 in St Pancras, London, England.4,5 George was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 5 Shelley Road, Willesden, London, England, George lived with his wife and children and worked as a printers label cutter.6 George was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 76 Barry Road, Willesden, London, England, George was a warehouseman in the printers living with his wife and children in a five roomed home.7 He died on 28 July 1949 in Willesden, London, England, aged 75 George died from Myocardial failure, his occupation was described as a retired Printer's warehouseman.4,8

     Albert Daniel Turmaine was born in 1888 in St Pancras, London, England.1,2 He was the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine and Elizabeth Ann Tozer Higham.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 2 Redhill Place, St Pancras, London, England, he was listed as the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 30 Wellesley Road, St Pancras, London, England, he was listed as the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine.4 He married Edith Ruby Wheeler on 23 March 1908 in St Pancras, London, England, Albert is indexed as Alfred Daniel on the GRO marriage index.1,5 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 30 Wellesley Road, St Pancras, London, England, he was listed as the son of George Robert Evans Turmaine Albert was listed as a gas stoker and engineer assistant in the laundry. He was living with his wife and two children in the same house as his parents and sister Gertrude and her family.6 Albert died on 28 March 1954 in North Middlesex Hospital, Edmonton, London, England, His usual address was 8 Arnold Road, South Tottenham London N15.1,7,8 His estate was probated on 21 June 1954 Adminitsration papers were issued to his widow. His effects were valued at £1,151.8
