Herman Dudley Roosen was born about 1871 in Brooklyn, New York, New Jersey, USA. He married Clarita Orizondo ... Mr and Mrs Herman Dudley Roosen of 1,120 Fifth Avenue and Laurel Lodge, Geenlawn, Long Island, New York announced in the New York Times of 8 September 1926, the engagement of their daughter Helen to William Greathead Curran, son of Mr and Mrs George William Curran of Overbrook, Philadelphia.1 Herman died on 21 June 1932 in 1,120 Fifth Avenue, New York, New Jersey, USA, after a long illness. He had devoted his entire career to the printing ink business and was the founder of the H.D. Roosen Company of which he was President and principal stockholder at his death. He was a member of the Union League, Huntington Bay and other clubs. His country home was at Centreport, Long Island. He was survived by his widow, two daughter and son.2 Herman was buried on 23 June 1932 in St Ignatius Loyola, 54th Street and Park Avenue, New York, New Jersey, USA, at 10a.m. for a private interment at which no flowers were requested.2

Helen Dolores Roosen was the daughter of Herman Dudley Roosen and Clarita Orizondo ... Helen and Dolores were introduced to Soicety on New Years Day 1925. Helen then went to spend the summer in Vichy and Paris.1 Helen returned to New York on 27 August on the Berengaria after passing the Summer abroad. A wedding license was obtained from the Municipal Building and they were married at 4 o'clock the following day.2 Helen's parents announce her engagement in New York Times 8 September 1926 to William Greathead Curran. Little did they know they were already married.1 She married William Greathead Curran, son of George William Curran and Gertrude E Fleming, on 28 August 1926 in St Patrick's Church, Huntington, Long Island, New York, New Jersey, USA, The New York Times 1 December 1926 announced that Helen and William had married secretly. It was only discovered by her parents on 30 November. Mr and Mrs Henry Kelly of 940 Park Avenue, intimate friends of the Currans were reported to have been the only persons to have known of the wedding.3 Mr and Mrs Herman Dudley Roosen of 1,120 Fifth Avenue and Laurel Lodge, Geenlawn, Long Island, New York announced in the New York Times of 8 September 1926, the engagement of their daughter Helen to William Greathead Curran, son of Mr and Mrs George William Curran of Overbrook, Philadelphia.1 The wedding had been set for 5 January 1927 at the Church of St Ignatius Loyola before the couples surprise secret wedding.3 An unknown person was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1930 Manhattan, New York, USA, William was a stock broker living with his wife, two children and three servants.4 Helen and William were divorced in 1935 in Carson City, Nevada, USA.5 She married Frank Miller Gould, son of Edwin Gould, on 7 June 1944 This was the second marriage for both of them. Captain Gould served as an Army Lieutenant in WW1 and had graduated from Yale back in 1920. He was Vice President of the St Louis South Western Railway Company and Chairman of the board and trustees of the Edwin Gould Foundation for Children. His clubs included the Universty, Turf and Field, Racquet and Tennis, New York Yacht, Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht,Cedar Creek, National Golf Links, Jekyl Island, Piping Rock and River.5 Her husband Frank died on before 1974. She died on 12 November 1974 her residence in Rucquebrunc, France, she left four granchildren, son William Greathead Curran Jr of London and Pamela Curran of New York City.6
