     It is thought that the family came over in 1800's some of the family believe it was on the prison ships.1 Robert Newton Greathead was born on 6 November 1898 in Staunton, Virginia, USA, The courthouse burned down and all records lost, but date located on his draft registration cards.1 He was the son of Robert Newton Greathead and Mary R Robinson. In the census of 1 June 1900 in Staunton City, Virginia, USA, he was listed as the son of Robert Newton Greathead.2 In the census of 20 April 1910 in Virginia, USA, he was listed as the son of Robert Newton Greathead.3 Robert was described on his ww1 registration card dated 7 September 1918 as tall in height, mdium build, grey eyes and brown hair. His father was listed as is next of kin.4 In the census of 5 January 1920 in 34th Street, King, Seattle, Washington, USA, he was listed as the son of Robert Newton Greathead.5 He married Edith Muldrum Rutherfoord in 1936.1 He died in January 1961 aged 62.1
