     Hugh Campbell Huntly was born in January 1849.2 He was a farmer from a farm called "Carl's Rust", just west of Grahamstown.2 He married Maria Louisa Pohl on 25 January 1872.2 He died on 25 July 1911 in Amatole Hotel, Alice, District of East Victoria, South Africa, aged 62.2

In the census of 6 June 1841 in Ellerton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Catherine Blenkhorn.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Reeth, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the nephew of Ruth Greathead Francis was a Commercial clerk.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Reeth, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Catherine Blenkhorn.5 He died in 1889 in Downholme, Yorkshire, England.6 He was buried on 25 June 1889 in St Michael and All Angels, Downholme, Yorkshire, England, He was mentioned on the headstone of his parents.6,7 The headstone above Adam and Catherine's grave states that their son Francis was also buried there. Their son Adam who died in Australia and interred at Daylesford, Victoria is also mentioned on the headstone.7,8
