     Kate Adams was born about 1870 in Northfield, Worcestershire, England.2 She was the daughter of Francis Adams and Clarissa Hinds.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Ashbury Villa, Northfield, Worcestershire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Francis Adams.3 She married George Von Kaufmann in 1890 in Croydon, London, England.4 Her husband George died on before 1900.2 She married Thomas Greathead on 10 November 1900 in Register Office, Darlington, Durham, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Isaac McClurg and Arthur Hinchley. Kate gave her address as 26 Commercial Street, Willington, while Thomas was living at 1 Commercial Street, Willington. Kate was a widow.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 20 Nicholson Road, Croydon, London, England, she was listed as the daughter of Clarissa Adams.6 Kate was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 21 Tweenaway Terrace, Paignton, Devon, England, Kate was living with her daughter and a boader Carl Olsson who was living on private means in her six roomed home.7 She died on 7 April 1935 in Manor Howe Hartfield, Huntingdon, Essex, England, Her usual address was Ivy Cottage, London Road, Wickford, Essex.8,9 She did not leave a will. Administration papers were issued on 23 May 1935 in London to her daughter Helen Mary Rinder who was the wife of Frederick Herbert Sinclair Rinder. Her effects were valued at £48 18s 6d.9

     Clarissa Hinds was born about 1841 in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, England.1 She married Francis Adams in 1864 in Clerkenwell, London, England.2 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Ashbury Villa, Northfield, Worcestershire, England, she was listed as the wife of Francis Adams.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Gredwolde House, Yardley, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Francis Adams.4 Her husband Francis died on before 1891.1 Clarissa was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in Elmiro, Whytecliffe Road, Coulsdon, Surrey, England.5 Clarissa was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 20 Nicholson Road, Croydon, London, England, Clarissa was living with Clare and Edith two unmarried daughters and Kate a married daughter with her daughter who is enumerated as Eveline although I believe when she was registered they used the name Helen Mary.6

     Francis Adams was born about 1841 in New York, USA, He was born a British Subject.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Church Green East, Redditch, Worcestershire, England, he was listed as the cousin of Benjamin Sarsons aged 54 a sinle gentleman who is described as a maltster and born in Henley in Arden, Warwickshire. The hiusehold also contained Benjamins sister Eliza Maria Sarsons, his niece Ann Sarsons and another cousin Harriet Sarsons. Francis is described as a solicitors articled clerk.2 He married Clarissa Hinds in 1864 in Clerkenwell, London, England.3 Francis was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Ashbury Villa, Northfield, Worcestershire, England, Francis was a solicitor living with his wife and three daughters.4 Francis was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Gredwolde House, Yardley, Warwickshire, England, Francis was a Solictor living with his wife who is enumerated as Sarah C, but I believe this to be Clarissa and two of his daughter, Dolly and Edith.5 He died before 1891.1
