The ceremony was witnessed by Oliver Thomas Easton and Elizabeth Porritt. Charles was a seaman, his father Jacob Porritt was a master mariner. Henry Spain was born in 1840 in Hythe, Kent, England.1 He married Jane Ann Papps, daughter of George Papps and Jane Ann Anderson Lawrence, in 1863 in Kensington, London, England.2 His wife Jane died on 1900 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England.3 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in South Park, Sevenoaks, Kent, England, Henry was a chartered accountant iving with his two sisters in law and three servants.4 He married Mary Elizabeth Papps, daughter of George Papps and Jane Ann Anderson Lawrence, I can find no trace of this marriage but Mary definately signed herself as Spain in 1911 census and died as such.5 Henry died in 1907 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England.6

Augusta Papps was born about 1831 in Kensington, London, England.1 She was the daughter of George Papps and Jane Ann Anderson Lawrence. She married Michael Plaskitt in 1861 in Kensington, London, England.2 Her husband Michael died on 1866 in Kensington, London, England.3 She witnessed the probate of the estate of Jane Ann Anderson Papps on 8 August 1874.4 Augusta was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in 114 Inverness Terrace, Paddington, London, England, Augusta was listed as an annuitant with her father, sister two lodgers and a servant.5 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 College Road, Bromley, Kent, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Papps.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in South Park, Sevenoaks, Kent, England, she was listed as the sister in law of Henry Spain.7 Augusta died in 1903 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England.8

Mary Elizabeth Papps was born in 1846 in St Johns Wood, London, England.1 She was the daughter of George Papps and Jane Ann Anderson Lawrence. In the census of 2 April 1871 in 39 Inverness Road, Paddington, London, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Papps Mary was a daily Governess.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 114 Inverness Terrace, Paddington, London, England, she was listed as the sister of Augusta Plaskitt Mary was a Governess.3 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 16 College Road, Bromley, Kent, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Papps.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in South Park, Sevenoaks, Kent, England, she was listed as the sister in law of Henry Spain.5 She married Henry Spain I can find no trace of this marriage but Mary definately signed herself as Spain in 1911 census and died as such.6 Her husband Henry died on 1907 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England.7 Mary was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 1 Holwood Road, Bromley, Kent, England, Mary now a widow was living on her own means with two servants.8 Mary died on 26 December 1934 in 30 Rodway Road, Roehampton, London, England.9,10 Her estate was probated on 11 February 1935 in the Principal registry to George Gloyne Papps, a secretary and Squadron Leader (RAF) Cresswell Turner, his wife Norah Turner and Miss Phillis Langmore Ray-Engleheart. Her effects were valued at £20,190 8s 10d.10
