Eva Louisa Wren née White
     Eva Louisa White was born on 26 March 1913 in East Preston, Sussex, England.1,2 She was the daughter of William White and Daisy White. She was baptised in St John's, Brighton, Sussex, England.3 Eva was confimed on 9 April 1930 in Christchurch, Worthing, Sussex, England, and took her first communion on Easter Sunday in St Matthew's Worthing.3 She married Percy William Wren, son of Charles William Wren and Laura Evelyn Bridger, on 3 June 1939 in Worthing, Sussex, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Daisy White and Ernest Byrne. Percy gave his occupation as a shop assistant and his address as 43 King Street, Broadwater. Eva gave hers as 80 Laufram Road, West Tarring. Both their fathers were listed as deceased. Percy's father had been a nurseryman and Eva's a motor driver.4 Her husband Percy died on 4 November 1984 in Basingstoke District Hospital, Aldermaston Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, aged 71 from carcinoma bronchus disseminated and Hypercalcaemia. His usual address was 4 Waterend Park, Basing and his occupation a retired driver.5 She died on 26 September 2008 in Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley, Surrey, England, aged 95 from artrial fibrillation and old age. Eva had worked as a florist.3,6 Her body was cremated The family returned afterwards to her oldest grandson's house on 13 October 2008 in Aldershot Crematorium, Aldershot, Hampshire, England.3

     Percy William Wren was born on 24 May 1913 in 63 Newland Road, Worthing, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Charles William Wren and Laura Evelyn Bridger. He married Eva Louisa White, daughter of William White and Daisy White, on 3 June 1939 in Worthing, Sussex, England, after the banns had been read.      Valerie Ann Surman was born on 2 May 1948 in Surrey, England, as a twin her exact time was registered as 7.70pm.1 She was the daughter of Ronald Bert Surman and Ella Louise Corderoy. She married Timothy Paul Greathead, son of Ronald Greathead and Joan Ethel Tunley, on 9 October 1971 in The Parish Church, Hook, Surrey, England.2 She died on 1 July 2011 aged 63.3

Marion Stewart née Strafford
     Marion Strafford was born on 19 September 1858 in 3 Tennant Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Strafford and Mary Baillie. In the census of 7 April 1861 in 8 Division Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Joseph Strafford.2 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 90 Raglan Street, Eccleston, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Joseph Strafford Marion was a scholar.3 She married William Ferrier Stewart, son of Alexander Stewart and Elizabeth Lyall Ferrier, on 19 June 1877 in St Mary's Parish Church, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, by banns William was of full age and Marion aged nineteen by F W Roberts. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart.4 Marion was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in 138 Studley Road, Stranton, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, I believe Marion's husband was aboard HMS Carysfort and he was an engineer in the Royal Navy.5 Marion was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in Clifton Villas, Stockton Road, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, Marion was living with her children. Little Norman was only 10 months old. Her husband was not at home on the night of the census.6 Marion was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 at 38 Milton Street, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, No sign as yet of Marion's husband William. She is listed as married. I assume he was at sea.7 She died in 1911 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.8

     William Ferrier Stewart was born on 3 July 1848 in Kirkden, Angus, Scotland.1,2 He was baptised on 30 July 1848 in Kirkden, Angus, Scotland.3,2 He was the son of Alexander Stewart and Elizabeth Lyall Ferrier.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Sea Cottage, Inverkeilor, Angus, Scotland, William was listed as a nephew, although he was William and Elspeth's grandson.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Delles Land, Liff, Dundee, Angus, Scotland, he was listed as the son of Alexander Stewart Alexander was listed as a labourer living with his wife and two sons William and Alexander. His daughter Euphemia was staying with her maternal grandparents.5 In the census of 2 April 1871 in HMS Ganges and Liberty tender, Plymouth Sound, Devon, England, he was listed as a sailor a Boy 2nd class. I believe he had lied about his age, it is recorded at 15 on the census enumeration sheet.6 He married Marion Strafford, daughter of Joseph Strafford and Mary Baillie, on 19 June 1877 in St Mary's Parish Church, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, by banns William was of full age and Marion aged nineteen by F W Roberts. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart.7 In the census of 3 April 1881 in HMS Carysfort, at anchor off Simons Bay, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, he was listed as a sailor in the Royal Navy.8 His wife Marion died on 1911 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.9 He died in 1915 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.10
