Harvey emigrated in 1889.2 She married Joseph Frederick Greathead, son of Henry Brisband Greathead and Eliza Lowing, on 9 August 1905 in Essex, Ontario, Canada.2 In the census of 20 April 1910 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA, she was listed as the wife of Joseph Frederick Greathead.3 Joseph attestation papers were signed on 22 August 1917 giving his wife Alice as his next of kin living at 370 Patesky Avenue, Detroit. He was described as a cook and agreed to serve in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force.4 Joseph and Alice applied for admission into Detroit, Michigan, US on 24 January 1924.
