     Mary Ann Tritton was born about 1807 in Whitstable, Kent, England.2 She was baptised on 25 March 1807 in Seasalter, Kent, England.3 She married Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine, son of Noah Turmine and Susanne Briault, on 11 August 1833 in Seasalter, Kent, England.1,3 In the census of 6 June 1841 in Blean, Kent, England, she was listed as the wife of Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine.4,1 Mary was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, Her husband was living in Canterbury, Mary was living with her children and Joseph Parker her lodger.5 Her husband Francois died on 5 February 1861 in Canterbury, Kent, England, aged 66.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, she was listed as the housekeeper of Joseph Parker Mary was listed as unmarried, her sons John and Charles were boarding with Joseph.6 She married Joseph Parker.1 Mary died in 1891 in Canterbury, Kent, England.3,7

Charles Turmine
     Charles Turmine was born on 28 May 1849 in Harbledown, Canterbury, Kent, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine and Mary Ann Tritton.1 He was baptised on 8 November 1849 in St Michael, Harbledown, Kent, England.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Mary Ann Turmine.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the boarder of Joseph Parker his brother John was also boarding in the household, his mother was listed as the housekeeper.5 He married Adelaide Mary Fowler on 22 October 1871 in Canterbury, Kent, England.1,3,6 He married Kate Bryan on 7 November 1880 in Canterbury, Kent, England.1,3,7 His wife Adelaide died on 1880 in Canterbury, Kent, England.1,8 Charles was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in 5 Dover Street, Canterbury, Kent, England, Charles was a butcher and living with his second wife Kate and his children.9,1 He and Kate Turmaine emigrated on 25 August 1883 on the immigrant ship "Cape Clear" arriving in Hobart, Tasmania on 26 October 1883. During the voyage Kate washed flags. Charles was a farming man, I believe he grew hops.1,10,11 Charles died on 22 March 1923 in Tasmania, Australia, aged 73.12

     John James Turmine was born in 1846 in Harbledown, Kent, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine and Mary Ann Tritton.1 He was baptised on 2 November 1846 in Harbledown, Kent, England.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Mary Ann Turmine.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the boarder of Joseph Parker his brother Charles was also boarding in the household, his mother was listed as the housekeeper.5 John died in 1872 in Blean, Kent, England.6 John was buried on 7 August 1872 in St Dunstans, Canterbury, Kent, England.1

     William Turmine was born in 1842 in Blean, Kent, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine and Mary Ann Tritton.1 He was baptised on 20 June 1842 in Blean, Kent, England.4 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Mary Ann Turmine.5 He died on 20 October 1865 in Canterbury, Kent, England, William was a mariner and died from a fever.6,1

     Hilda Frances Olive Agnes Turmaine was born in 1911 in Canterbury, Kent, England.1 She was the daughter of William Henry Dawkins Turmaine and Agnes Lucy Poysden. In the census of 2 April 1911 in Canterbury, Kent, England, she was listed as the daughter of William Henry Dawkins Turmaine The family were indexed as Turmine.2 She married Sidney Stokes, son of John Stokes, on 26 December 1933 in St Gregory the Great, Canterbury, Kent, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Rosaline Stokes and Agnes L Turmaine, presumably the mothers of the bride and groom. Sidney was a Lance Corporal in "The Buffs" from the Buffs Depot.1

There are no known children from this marriage.1,3 Elizabeth died in 1841 in Canterbury, Kent, England.2,4
