The ceremony was witnessed by Joseph Jeavons and Joseph Stokes.      Thomas Lythgoe was born about 1812 in Leigh, Lancashire, England.1 He married Mary Greathead, daughter of George Greathead and Mary Taylor, on 20 September 1832 in St John, Manchester, Lancashire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Haigh. Thomas was a farmer and although the register is written as Lithgo Thomas signs as Lythgoe.1,2,3,4,5 Thomas was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Bailey Street, Farnsworth, Yorkshire, England, Thomas was as agricultural labourer and was living with his wife and nephew and two lodgers.6 Thomas was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in 39 Eller Street, Salford, Lancashire, England, Thomas was a coachman living with his wife and his ten year old niece Ellen Hughes.7 His wife Mary died on 1878 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.8 Thomas died in 1894 in Leigh, Lancashire, England.9
