     Joseph Parker was born about 1808 in Blean, Kent, England.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, he was listed as the lodger of Mary Ann Turmaine he was an agricultural labourer.2 Joseph was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Rough Common, Harbledown, Kent, England, Joseph was unmarried and had Mary Ann Turmaine as housekeeper and her two sons boarding with him. He was employed as a woodman.3 He married Mary Ann Tritton.1

     Jane Watkins was born about 1823.2 She married Henry Turmaine, son of Charles Turmaine and Alicia Stone.1 An unknown person was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Homer Street, Marylebone, London, England, Henry was a bricklayer living with his wife and children.3 Her husband Henry died on 1853.4 She died on 4 August 1865 in Kensington, London, England, She died from chronic bronchitis and debility.4,5

     Charles Turmaine was born about 1876 in Canterbury, Kent, England, Charles was registered as Turmine.1 He was the son of Charles Turmaine and Adelaide Mary Fowler.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 5 Dover Street, Canterbury, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Turmaine.2,3 He emigrated with Charles Turmaine and Kate Turmaine on 25 August 1883 on the immigrant ship "Cape Clear" arriving in Hobart, Tasmania on 26 October 1883. Charles was a farming man, I believe he grew hops.3,4
