     Mary Wordsworth was born about 1781 in Whitehaven, Lancashire, England, Mary's father was the poet Wordsworth’s cousin.3,4 She married William Peake.4 Her husband William died on before 1816.4 She married William Proctor Smith on 23 November 1816 Mary was William's second wife.2,4 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Coniston Bank, Hawkshead, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Proctor Smith.5 Mary was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Rydal, Lancashire, England, Mary was a pensioner of the government and fund holder living with her son Wordsworth a retired Lieutenant in the Army and her daughter Mary a fundholder and two servants.6

     William Francis Turmine was born on 8 August 1884 in Longford, Tasmania, Australia.1 He was the son of Charles Turmine and Kate Bryan.1 He married Jessie Sullivan before 1899 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.1 Their son Henry died while in action on the Western front. They were living at the time in Branxholm, Tasmania.2 William died on 2 August 1924 in Tasmania, Australia, aged 39.1 William was buried on 4 August 1924 in Carr Villa Cemetery, Tasmania, Australia.1
