Thomas Greathead Harper was born about 1858 in Demerara, British Guiana.1 He married Ella L ...1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 115 Wilberforce Road, Stoke Newington, London, England, he was listed as a boarder with Helen Mulford who ran a boarding house. Thomas lectured at schools.2 In the book "Contemporary Evolution of the Negro Race" Black commentator Thomas Greathead Harper conceded that the Anglo-Saxons might venerate such ideals, but he questioned whether they ever achieved them.3 Thomas was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 16 Southcroft Road, Tooting, London, England, Thomas was a lecturer and author living in a four room home with his secretary, but declared himself single not widowed.4 He was listed as the father of the groom at the marriage of Annie F Talbot and Albert Stanley Eugene Harper on 23 February 1914 in Register Office, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, he was a retired clerk in holy orders. So a little unsure whether I have the correct man.5,6
