     John Robert Easby was born in 1865 in Guisborough, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Robert Easby and Elizabeth Jane Cass.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Low Street, Ormesby, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Robert Easby Robert was a farmer of 147 acres living with his wife and children who worked onthe farm, Sarah and John were at school. There was a foreman and five servants to complete the household.3 He married Margaret Sarah Greathead, daughter of Thomas Greathead and Esther Martin, on 15 March 1888 in Trinity Church, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, by Rev H M Scott. John was described as of Coatham Farm and Margaret Sarah known as Maggie as third daughter of Thomas Greathead of Cargo Fleet near Middlesborough.4,5 John was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in Mansfield Farm, Thornaby on Tees, Yorkshire, England, John was a farmer living with his wife and children The family had five servants.6 John was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Mansfield Farm, Thornaby on Tees, Yorkshire, England, John was a farmer living with his wife and four daughters in their eight roomed home. The others completed the household, a horseman, a cowman and a domestic servant all three were listed as boarders.7 His wife Margaret died on 1938 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.8 He died in 1959 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.9
