John James Greathead aka Jack
     John James Greathead was born on 3 December 1914 in Consett, Guisborough, Yorkshire, England.1,4,2,5 He was the son of John Greathead and Margaret Hannah Easton. He married Elizabeth Kennedy in 1943 in St Hilda, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.6,7 Newspaper article: Sixty years of love
Their wedding night did not get off to the best start - but 60 years on this couple have celebrated their diamond wedding annyversary. On the evening of Jack and Betty Greathead's big day they had to make their way to the local shelter after two air raids. When they returned to their room, they were woken by an air raid warden as there was a light peeking through thier curtains. The couple were joined by friends and family to celebrate their milestone on Monday. Jack 88, and Betty, 84, of Broadacres housing scheme, Hollygarth Close, Great Ayton, received a card from the Queen. Betty said, "The secret to a long and happy marriage is broad shoulders and thick skin." While Jack said the secret to their lengthy success is "love of the family".3 He died in March 2008 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, aged 93.8

Administration papers were issued on 4 December 2008 to her son John in Newcastle upon Tyne.8
