They had a servant Mary M Barnes.6 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 21 King William Street, Bedminster, Gloucestershire, England, she was listed as the wife of George Derrick George was an engine fitter and was living with his wife a dressmaker and their children and her mother was with them. She was described as a vest maker.7 Her husband George died on 1881 in Bedminster, Gloucestershire, England.8 Julia was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in 1 Norfolk Place, Sculcoates, Yorkshire, England, Julia was a waistcoat maker living with her mother and children and a lodger called John Fishwick who worked as a cellarman.9 Julia was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 3 Durham Terrace, Sculcoates, Yorkshire, England, Julia was working as a tailoress. her son George was with her,he was working as a clerk's apprentice.
