     Marjery Ellerton was born in 1718 in Yorkshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Matthew Ellerton and Marjery Arrundle. She married William Greathead, son of Thomas Greathead, before 1740.1 Marjery died in 1768.1,2 Marjery did not leave a will. Administration papers were issued in December 1768 to her husband William.2

     Edward Brown was baptised on 20 July 1823 in Parish Church, Tanfield, Durham, England, with his sister Jane their father was listed as a labourer living in Cleugh Dean.1 He was the son of Peter Brown and Isabella Baker. In the census of 6 June 1841 in Chapel Row, Shildon, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Peter Brown Edward was a brakesman.2 He married Mary Wilson in 1846 in Durham, England.3,4 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Weather Hill, Stanhope, Durham, England, Edward was an engine keeper on the railway.5 Edward was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Belly Hall, Crook, Durham, England, Edward was a railway engine driver. He and his wife had Jane Fox their niece staying with them. Jane was a scholar aged 6. There was also a boarder John Wearmouth an engine stoker.6 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Stanley Cottages, Crook, Durham, England, Edward was an engineman.7 Edward was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Stanley Engine Houses, Crook, Durham, England, Edward was an engine man. He and his wife had a servant called Mary Palister and their grandson Thomas Andrew Young who was only one year old staying with them.8 Edward was mentioned in the will of Sarah his sister. He was living at Stanley Engine, near Crook at the time.9 His wife Mary died on about 1897 in Darlington, Durham, England, This maybe the correct death year, it is not confirmed.3,10 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 13 Milton Street, Darlington, Durham, England.11 The will of Edward was proved on 25 May 1909 in Durham by James and Edward Brown his sons who were railway clerks and Thomas Young a gentleman, husband to his daughter Isabella. His effects were valued at £1437 9s 6d.9 Edward died on 25 May 1909 in 13 Milton Street, Darlington, Durham, England, aged 85.12,9

     John Dodsworth was born in 1765 in England It is believed he was born in a place called Thornton Steward but I am unsure where this is.1 He married Jane Harrison I understand Jane was previously married to Francis Walbron.1 John was listed as the head of the family on the census of 6 June 1841 in Finghall, Leyland, Yorkshire, England, John was a farmer living with his new wife and possiblly his daughter, Elizabeth.2

His father was living next door.7 William, Mary and their children emigrated to Pensylvania in 1892. They went on to have six more children, George, Florence, Beatrice, Lucy, John C and Helen.8 William was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 January 1900 in Locust Street, Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, William was a coal miner living with his wife and children.9 William was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 January 1920 in 215 Powdery Road, Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, William was listed as a Company man in the coal mine living with his wife, two of his children and a niece Mildred Barnicott born in Pennsylvania aged 3 years 6 months.10 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 2 April 1930 in 215 Powdery Road, Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, William was a coal miner living with his wife and two of his children, his grandson Walter Verrill aged 9 and niece Mildred Barnicott aged 15.11 His wife Mary died on 16 November 1936 in 215 Powdery Road, Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, aged 75 from cancer of the colon and partial intestinal obstruction. Her parents were confirmed as Robert Barnicott and Mary Medlin.12 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 1 April 1940 in 215 Powdery Road, Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, William was living on his own.13 William died on 2 May 1946 in Carbondale, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, USA, aged 87 from acute myacarchitis. He was a miner working for the Hudson Coal Company.12

     Maria Louise Dale was born on 26 November 1866 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of George Simpson Dale and Maria Atkinson.4 She married John William Peacock in 1889 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.1,5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 2 Mill Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, she was listed as the boarder of Maria Dale John, Maria Louise and their our children were boarding at the house of Marias mother and the childrens grandmother.6 Her husband John died on 1908 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.7 Maria was listed as head of household in the census of 19 June 1921 in 4 Stokes Yard, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, Maria was living with her son Alfred and a boarder Thomas Greathead who she later married.8 She married Thomas Greathead, son of John Greathead and Jane Ann Hogg, on 22 May 1928 in Register Office, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, The ceremony was witnessed by R I Davies and M Oyston, both Thomas and Maria had been widowed and gave the address of 4 Carroll Street, Stockton on Tees. Thomas was a geneal labourer.9,1 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Maria was listed as living at 58 Church Road, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, with her husband Thomas. Thomas was a retired general labourer.3 Maria died in 1951 in Durham, England.10 Maria was buried on 5 March 1951 in Durham Road Cemetery, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.11
