     Francis James Cox married Mary ... sometime before 1813. Mary was described as a woman of colour.1 He was baptized on 9 January 1785 in St George's Anglican Cathedral, Kingstown, St Vincent, West Indies.1 He was the son of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander.1 He also lived on St Lucia, a nearby island, likely as part of hs military assignment.1 He died on 1 July 1824 aged 39.1 He was buried in St Vincent, West Indies.1

     Anne Elizabeth Cox was baptized on 2 August 1787 in St George's Anglican Cathedral, Kingstown, St Vincent, West Indies.1 She was the daughter of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander.1 She married James Grant on 6 April 1809.1

     James Grant married Anne Elizabeth Cox, daughter of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander, on 6 April 1809.1 He died on 7 June 1837.1 The will of James was proved in October 1837 in London, naming his dearly beloved wife Ann Grant and also Sir Alexander Grant as executors. No children were mentioned.1

     I wonder whether the middle name of Greathead came from Paul's fathers commanding officer. Lieutenant Colonel John Greathead.2 Paul Greathead Cox was baptized on 18 October 1789 in St George's Anglican Cathedral, Kingstown, St Vincent, West Indies.1 He was the son of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander.1 He died on 4 December 1789 aged 0.1

     Douglas Leith Cox was baptized on 27 December 1792 in St George's Anglican Cathedral, Kingstown, St Vincent, West Indies.1 He was the son of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander.1 He married Magdalen Sutherland on 17 March 1821.1 Douglas and Magdalen had several children who were born in St Vincent, Scotland, Canada and Hampshire in England. It is thought they died in Scotland.1

     Magdalen Sutherland married Douglas Leith Cox, son of Herbert Palmer Cox and Jane Alexander, on 17 March 1821.1 Douglas and Magdalen had several children who were born in St Vincent, Scotland, Canada and Hampshire in England. It is thought they died in Scotland.1
