Katherine Emily Annie Francis1

     Katherine Emily Annie Francis was born about 1899 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Alfred Francis and Katherine Alice Baker.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 94 Well Street, Hackney, London, England, she was listed as the niece of John Edward Huff.2 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Glawrhyd Lodge, Pontardawe, Glamorganshire, Wales, she was listed as the daughter of Alfred Francis.3,4 She married Percy C Tanner in 1919 in Exeter, Devon, England.5 She witnessed the probate of the estate of Katherine Alice Francis on 15 September 1952.6

     Charles Francis was born about 1907 in Pontardawe, Glamorganshire, Wales.1 He was the son of Alfred Francis and Katherine Alice Baker.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Glawrhyd Lodge, Pontardawe, Glamorganshire, Wales, he was listed as the son of Alfred Francis.2,3

     Maria Atkinson was born in 1837 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England. She married George Simpson Dale in 1855 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.1 Her husband George died on 1894 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.2,3 Maria was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 2 Mill Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, Maria was listed as a housekeeper with her daughter, son iin law and their children boarding with her.4 Maria died in 1914 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.5

Violet Greathead née Smith
     Violet Catherina Smith was born in 1921 in Kenya.2,3 She married John Guy Greathead, son of James Henry Horatio Greathead and Helen Douglas Huntly.1 Violet and John emigrated on 5 October 1951 from Southampton, Hampshire, England, to Dar Es Sallaam, Tanzania aboard Boschfontein. John, Violet and Robart gave their home address as 123 St Andrews Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk.4 Violet died in 1994 in New South Wales, Australia.5,3 Violet was buried in Tweed Heads Lawn Cemetery, Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia, her mother Katherina Smith (1898-1979) is buried under the same stone.5,6

John, Violet and Robart gave their home address as 123 St Andrews Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk.3 He married Gloria Jean Gregory on 18 June 1966.1 Robert died on 16 April 2013 in Base Hospital, Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, Robert was late of Cordalba and formerly of Gold Coast.4 Robert was buried on 23 April 2013 in Childers Lawn Cemetery, Huxley Road, Childers, Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, after a Requiem Mass at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Barolin Street Bundaberg at 11:30 am.4

     Roger John Greathead was born about 1972.2 He was the son of Robert Graham Greathead and Gloria Jean Gregory.1 Roger died on 18 November 2021 in Queensland, Australia, unexplectedly at home. He had a backyard mechanic worksho at Gregoey River near Bundaberg.2

Kathleen Greathead née Murphy
     Kathleen Murphy was born on 28 November 1915 in County Mayo, Ireland.2 She was trained at West Middlesex Hospital, London, UK. She worked in Northampton as a Midwife during 2nd world war and moved to Kenya via ship 1945. She worked at Nakuru War Memorial Hospital, then at Eldoret Native Hospital in 1950's. She moved to South Africa in May 1963 and settled in Pietermaritzburg, Natal South Africa. Here she worked at Greys Hospital Pietermaritzburg, Natal South Africa in 1960's she worked at Sunnyside Nursing Home. PMB 1970's when she retired to George, Cape Province after Godfrey's death.

She married Harold Godfrey James Greathead, son of James Henry Horatio Greathead and Helen Douglas Huntly, on 28 September 1946 in Nakuru, Kenya, Kathleen was sometimes known as Catherine.1,2,3 Her husband Harold died on 19 November 1983 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, aged 64.4,1 Kathleen died on 11 April 1997 in George, Cape Province, South Africa, aged 81.2
