     Doris Irene Greathead was born on 6 December 1926 in McDowell County, West Virginia, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Thomason Greathead and Victoria Tori Day. She married Harold Turner in August 1947.¹ She died on 19 November 1998 in 829 Albeniarie Street, Bluefield, West Virginia, USA, aged 71.^1,2 She was buried in Roselawn Memorial Garden, Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia, USA, Her obituary read: Doris G. Turner BLUEFIELD Doris G. Turner, 71, of 829 Albeniarle St., Bluefleld, and formerly of Welch, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998. Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Big Four (Kimball), she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria Day Greathead. She had been a resident of Bluefield for six years. She was retired from the West Virginia Department of Employment Security, Unemployment Division. She had been a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 31 years and was currently an active member of the Xi Omicron Chapter. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Gideons Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.
Her survivors include her husband, Harold Turner of Bluefield; daughter, Carol Collins and husband, "Connie', of Princeton; one son, Allen Turner and wife, Jo, of Edmond, Okla; one grandson, Chad Blackburn of Bluefield, and his fiancee, Kara McKinney of Bluewell; sisters, Opal Sawyers of Princeton and Mary Stanley of Big Four (Kimball); brothers, "Conk" Greathead of Big Four (Kimball), and Sam Greathead of Vivian; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel of Bluefleld with the Dr. I. Mark Conner officiating. Buria1 will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Princeton.
Friends may call today at the funeral home from 6 to 9p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations, if desired, be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 401 College Ave., Bluefleld, WV 24701 in Doris's memory.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Collins, Ed Goodson, Scott Goodson, Dale Stamper and Mark Saunders.²
