In the census of 7 April 1861 in 67 Rokeby Street, Everton, Lancashire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 in The Grocer Shop. 75 Rokeby Street, Everton, Lancashire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley he was a scholar.4 William was listed as the head of the household of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 132 Heyworth Street, Everton, Lancashire, England, William was a wholesale grocer. In the census of 3 April 1881 in 132 Heyworth Street, Everton, Lancashire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley.1,3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Home Leigh, Hengoed, Sellattyn, Shropshire, England, he was listed as the brother of William Tunley James was a poultry farmer.4 James sailed on RMS Axim leaving Liverpool on 15 June 1901 travelling second class to Sierre Leone.5 He married ... Accou in Sierre Leone 1st wife of James - part French.6 James and his wife left Liverpool on 23 May 1903 onboard the ship Fantee bound for Sierre Leone.5 James and his wife left Liverpool on 20 October 1906 onboard the ship Aro bound for Sierre Leone.5 He sailed again from Liverpool on 9 May 1910 this time on the Tarquah to Sierre Leone.5 James travelled on Balmoral Castle leaving London on 16 February 1917 bound for Kenya. He appears on the ships manifest, although his name was crossed through. He was described as a Merchant and travelled 2nd class.5 James left London on 15 August 1919 aboard Gaboon travelling 1st class to Sekondi-Takoradi. He was a trader.5 James arrived in Liverpool on 23 September 1920 on board the ship Akabo. He travelled first class giving his UK address as Bedford Hotel, London. The ships manifest describes him as a Manager.7 James left London on 19 October 1920 travelling first class on the ship Warri. He was listed as a timber merchant.5 James arrived in Liverpool on 16 October 1921 on board Appam from Sierre Leone. He travelled second class and gave his UK address as C/o 73 basinghall Street, London. He was described as a Manager on the ships manifest.8 James sailed from Liverpool aboard Aba on 11 January 1922 travelling 1st class bound for the Gold Coast. He was a manager and gave his UK address as 99 Hereford Road, W2.5 James sailed from Liverpool on 29 August 1922 bound for Aba to the Gold Coast. He travelled 1st class giving his address in the UK as c/o Watt Bros 4 Lloyds Avenue, London EC. He was described as a timber cruiser.5 James arrived in Liverpool on 25 November 1922 travelling 2nd class onboard the ship Aba from Sierre Leone. He was described as a timber merchant. He gave his UK address as C/o Bank BWA, London.9 James left Liverpool on 4 October 1924 bound for the Gold Coast aboard Adda. He travelled 1st class and described himself as an engineer giving his UK address as 114 Beechcroft Road, London.5 Captain James as he was described on the ships manifest. He left Liverpool on 19 December aboard Abinsi. He was a director and travelled first class.      William Augustus Henry Greathead was born in 1884 in Tooting, London, England.2,3 He was the son of Walter George Greathead and Amelia Eliza Booth. In the census of 5 April 1891 in 4 Albert Terrace, Tottenham, London, England, he was listed as the son of Walter George Greathead.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 119 Chelmsford, Walthamstow, Essex, England, he was listed as the son of Walter George Greathead William was a lime light operator.5 He married Blanche Lidia Dewar, daughter of George Dewar, on 29 April 1906 in St Mary the Virgin, Walthamstow, Essex, England, C I Watkins married them after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Sid Dewar and Lucy Dewar. Both bride and groom gave their address as 24 Brunswick Street. William was a carman.6,7 He died on 19 November 1912 in Ham Asylum, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada, William was described as a labourer and married at the time of his death from epilepsy. He was admitted into Ham Asylum on 17 October and died from exhaustion a few weeks later.8
