Helen was working as a school teacher when they met.³ He married Helen Lyons, daughter of Charles Edward Stiff and Louisa Marie Pratt, on 1 December 1932 in United Church of Canada, Naramata, British Columbia, Canada, after a licence number 6304B was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Alice W Cross and Selwyn Arthur Stainforth.¹ His wife Florence died in late 1940's.^1,4 James died in 1995 in Naiamo, British Columbia, Canada.¹
