     Jane Cooper was born on 17 December 1908 in Halstow, Sittingbourne, Kent, England.1,2 She was the daughter of James Cooper and Harriett Kemsley. She was baptised on 17 January 1909 in Bobbing, Kent, England.1 Jane spent her working life in service. For many years she was housekeeper to the Geering family in Ashford Kent. She never married.1 Jane died in August 1989 in Ashford, Kent, England, aged 80.1,3

Florence Helen Stiff

     Florence Helen Stiff was born on 24 May 1906 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Edward Stiff and Louisa Marie Pratt.3 It is believed that Helen as she was called had her name changed when she was adopted to Lyons.1 Charles Edward Stiff and Louisa Marie Stiff emigrated on 19 March 1908 aboard the Allan Line Steamship Co Ltd called
Corsican bound for St John Nb, Canada from Liverpool.4 She married James Edward Cooper, son of James Cooper and Harriett Kemsley, on 1 December 1932 in United Church of Canada, Naramata, British Columbia, Canada, after a licence number 6304B was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Alice W Cross and Selwyn Arthur Stainforth.1 She died in late 1940's.1,5

     Edward Cooper was born on 2 July 1840 in Milton, Sittingbourne, Kent, England.1,2 He was the son of Edward Cooper and Mary Marsh.1 He was baptised on 2 August 1840 in Milton, Sittingbourne, Kent, England.1 In the census of 6 June 1841 in Kemsey Down, Milton, Sittingbourne, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Edward Cooper.3 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Funton Farm Cottages, Iwade, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Edward Cooper Edward was a scholar.4 He married Jane Lockyer, daughter of Raynard Lockyer and Frances Epps, on 10 November 1860 in All Saints, Iwade, Sittingbourne, Kent, England, after banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Robert and Alice Kite. Edward was described as a labourer.1,5 Edward was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Blue Houses, Milton, Kent, England, Edward was a market gardener.6 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in 4 Bryants Cottages, Kent Green, Bobbing, Kent, England, Edward was a fruiterer.7 Edward was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 1 Blue Houses, Milton, Kent, England, Edward was a potato merchant.8 Edward was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in Stickfast, Bobbing, Kent, England, Edward was a farmer.9 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in Stickfast Farm, Bobbing, Kent, England, Edward was a farmer.10 His wife Jane died on 15 October 1908 in Cambra Farm, Stickford Lane, Bobbing, Kent, England, aged 64 Family oral tradition says that Jane died of septacemia after having a corn trimmed by her husband with a razor. Her death certificate would seem to agree with this. However, it also says that she was suffering from diabetes. This can lead to gangrene in the lower limbs.1,11 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Cambra Farm, Stickford Lane, Bobbing, Kent, England, Edward was a farmer living with his three daughters in his nine roomed farm.12 Edward died on 13 April 1927 in "Allports Bungelow", Westbere, Sturry, Canterbury, Kent, England, aged 86 from senile decay.1,13
