     William Ferrier Stewart was born on 15 March 1880 in Stranton, West Hartlepool, Durham, England.1 He was the son of William Ferrier Stewart and Marion Strafford. In the census of 3 April 1881 in 138 Studley Road, Stranton, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Marion Stewart.2 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Clifton Villas, Stockton Road, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Marion Stewart He was a scholar.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in New Graving Dockyard, Barry, Glamorganshire, Wales, he was listed as 4th engineer on board SS Mancuria. It was a steam vessel which belonged to Manchester and was employed in foreign trade.4 He married Helena Mary Clasper, daughter of Robert Clasper and Catherine Robinson, in 1907 in Grimsby, Yorkshire, England.5 He died before 1911.6
