George Turmaine was born on 28 May 1878 in West Ham, London, England.1,2 He was the son of William Turmaine and Caroline Raby.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 7 Duff Fields, Bromley St Leonards, London, England, he was listed as the son of William Turmaine.3 He died on 30 August 1885 in Hip Hospital, Christchurch, Hampshire, England, aged 7 Poor George died from morbus coxae which is apparently a tubercular disease of the hip. He had suffered with the disease for two years and the tubercular meningitis for one week. Florence Kimber from the hospital was the informant. He sadly died whilst on holiday.4,1,5

The will was proved on 9 February 1856 in London. The will was written on 17 November 1847. he was described as a carpenter.6
