     David Charles Berridge was born on 26 January 1928 in Georgetown, British Guiana.2,3 He was the son of Charles Henry Berridge and Gwendoline Greathead. Charles, a grocer, his wife Gwen, two year old David and little Sybil aged 10 months travelled from Liverpool leaving on 26 April 1930 on board the ship Amakura bound for Demerara in British Guiana. They gave their last address in the UK as 13 Sitterton Bere Regis, Wareham in Dorset.2 Charles and Gwendoline travelled aboard the ship Ingria with their children David, Sybil and ten month old Michael. They travelled first class.4 Charles and Gwendoline arrived in Plymouth with their children David, Sybil and Michael aboard the ship Van Rensselaer on 27 April 1939 from their home in British Guiana.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register David Charles Berridge was listed as living at 4a Rushmere Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, England with his parents.6 David lived in British Guiana and came over to England during WW2 and did not go back.7,3 He married Ivy Mary Woodward in 1951 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England.7,8 David died on 26 June 2005 in Bedfordshire, England, aged 77.7,9

     Mary Lyon was born in 1798 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England.2 She married John Greathead on 27 March 1827 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England.3 Her husband John died on before 1841 he was described as a farmer on the marriage certificate of his son.1 Mary was listed as the head of the family on the census of 6 June 1841 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England, Mary worked as a labourer.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the mother in law of William Tindale.5 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Low Street, Sancton, Pocklington, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the mother in law of William Tindale Mary was an annuitant.6 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Houghton Lane, Sancton and Houghton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the mother in law of William Tindale.7 In the census of 5 April 1891 in King Street, Pocklington, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the mother of Charles Greathead.8 Mary died on 15 January 1897 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England, from senile decay.9

In the census of 7 April 1861 in Sancton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of William Tindale.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Low Street, Sancton, Pocklington, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of William Tindale She was a scholar.2 She married William Hurd in 1886 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England.3 William was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 5 Summerill Cottage, Stainmore, Cumbria, England, William was a railway signalman living with his wife and son. They had his wife's niece also with them.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Bridge Street, Howden le Wear, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of William Hurd.5 Her husband William died on 1917 in Auckland, Durham, England.6 Isabella died on 25 December 1939 in Buckrose, Yorkshire, England, her usual address was Kirk View East, Hesterton near Malton.7,8 The will of Isabella was proved on 24 February 1940 in Yorkshire to her son Francis William Hurd a quarryman. Her estate was valued at £314 1s 10d.8

so Stong, So Brave"Trooper 11/496 was in the Wellington Mounted Rifles, N.Z.E.F.2,4 Harold was buried in Hill 60 New Zealand Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey, he is remembered on the family grave in Archer Street Cemetery, Masterton, Wellington New Zealand Plot: 2, Row EJB, IX Pioneer.4
