     Thomas Greathead was born on 25 December 1910 in South Shields Square, Bucks Green, Durham, England.1 He was the son of John George Greathead and Harriet Frances Spence. In the census of 2 April 1911 in Shields Square North Street, Byers Green, Spennymoor, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John George Greathead.2 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 18 High Street, Byers Green, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John George Greathead.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Thomas was listed as living at Precincts of Catterick Camp, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, Thomas was a Dining Hall Orderly at RAOC.4 He was an agricultural worker. He married Margaret Isobel Hope, daughter of William Hope and Margaret Smirthwaite, in 1940 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.5,6 He married Patricia Winifred C G Green in 1954 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.5,7 Thomas died in 1968 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.8

There were no children from their marriage.1 Ann died in 1778.3 Ann was buried on 26 July 1778 in Holy Cross, Canterbury, Kent, England.1
