     Mary Bell was baptised on 2 August 1829 in Brompton, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Christopher Bell and Emma Abbott. She married Ralph Greathead, son of William Greathead and Jane Cockfield, on 30 August 1847 in St Hilda, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read on 15, 22 and 29 August. The ceremony was witnessed by John Eades and Robert Brown. Mary was living in Middlesborough.2,3 Mary died in 1848 in Bedale, Yorkshire, England.4

The ceremony was witnessed by William Sutton and Samuel Ames.      Arthur Thakeray was born on 3 October 1875 in Carlton Minnott, Thirsk, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He married Annie Elizabeth Oliver in 1897 in Ripon, Yorkshire, England.1,3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 59 North Street, Ripon, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the brother in law. Arthur, Annie and their two children were living with Harry and Emma Handaby. Harry was a butcher, Arthur was a railway signalman.4 His wife Annie died on 1903 in Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.5 He married Jane Ann Greathead, daughter of George Greathead and Jane Pickering, in 1905 in All Saints, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.6,7 Arthur was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Thompson's Yard, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, Arthur was a railway signalman with the North East Railway living with his wife and two children from a previous marriage.8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arthur was listed as living at 40 Quaker Lane, Pickering, Yorkshire, England, with his wife Jane. Arthur was a railway signalman.9 Arthur died on 3 November 1949 in 40 Quaker Lane, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, aged 74.10,11 The will of Arthur was proved on 31 March 1950 in York by his widow Jane and son William a fire inspector on the railway. His estate was valued at £2342 16s 8d.11

     George Robert R Graham was born about 1818 in Lincolnshire, England.1 He was the son of George Graham.2 He was Farmer on 25 February 1857. George was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in 7 Skinner Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, Robert was a farmer and lived with Sarah who was listed as his housekeeper.3 He married Sarah Greathead, daughter of William Greathead and Jane Cockfield, on 13 December 1867 in Holy Trinity, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, George was a farmer. The ceremony was witnessed by John Hale and William Hewitt after a licence was issued.
