Chart 1 My Direct Family - Edward Greathead
     Sallyann M Evans was born on 2 July 1951 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Herbert Edward Greathead and Lilian Mary Palmer.1 Herbert, his wife and two daughters sailed on 22 April from Southampton aboard the ship Scythia to Quebec. They gave their address as 10 Poplar Road, Loughborough, Valerie was listed as a scholar and Herbert an Inspector. Herbert's younger brother George and his wife Kathleen followed a couple of years later.3 She married William Soreg in 1972 in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, They later divorced but no children.1 Sallyann died on 24 June 2018 aged 66 after hospitalization for an aneurism after being discovered unconscious on her condo floor.4

     Joan ... married Kenneth Greathead, son of Oswald Greathead and Alice Dorothy Evans, Kenneth was a policeman. Joan and Kenneth had four children, all remained in England with the exception of one, Tony who had a daughter called Pat.1 Her husband Kenneth died on about 1989 from a brain tumour.1 Joan died about 1990 in England.1

     Violet Greathead was born about 1899 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 21 Lower Horselsey Fields, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the cousin of John Oswald Brandreth Violet was listed as at school. I cannot at the moment identify why she is as a cousin.2

     George Noel Griffiths was born in 1883 in Chorlton upon Medlock, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1,2 He was the son of William Walton Griffiths and Emily Greathead Taylor.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 5 Mosely Road, Cheadle, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Walton Griffiths.3 He married Amy Newton, daughter of John Newton and Ada Hughes, in 1910 in Fylde, Lancashire, England.1,4 George was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 48 Rock Mount, Whalley Road, Accrington, Lancashire, England, George was an electrical engineer living with his wife in a six roomed home. They had a visitor Emily Greathead Griffiths staying with them and a domestic servant.5

In the census of 2 April 1871 in 51 Romford Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Taylor.2 She married William Walton Griffiths, son of William Griffiths and Fanny Massey, in 1877 in Chorlton, Lancashire, England.1,3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 45 Upper Brook Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Walton Griffiths.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 5 Mosely Road, Cheadle, Cheshire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Walton Griffiths.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 7 Weston Grove, Salford, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the wife of William Walton Griffiths.6 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 48 Rock Mount, Whalley Road, Accrington, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the visitor of George Noel Griffiths.7 Emily died on 8 April 1927 in Stockport, Cheshire, England.8,9 The will of Emily was proved on 23 July 1927 in Manchester to George Noel Griffiths an electrical engineer.
