In the census of 5 April 1891 in 27 Cope Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Christopher Greathead.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 23 Taylor Row, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Hannah Harper Ernest was a bobbin mill turner.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 42 Parker Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Christopher Greathead Ernest was a bobbin turner.7 He married Rose Arrand, daughter of Albert Arrand and Ann Horsefield, on 24 December 1917 in St Mary's Parish Church, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read. the ceremony was witnessed by John Harper and Ernest's sister Hilda Greathead. Ernest was a turner and gave his address as 42 Parker Street, Barnsley. Rose gave hers as 37 Fitzwilliam Street in Barnsley.1,8,9 Ernest was listed as head of household in the census of 19 June 1921 in 75 Summer Lane, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, Ernest was living with his wife and sons.      Rose Arrand was born on 14 July 1888 in Silkstone, Yorkshire, England.1,3,4 She was the daughter of Albert Arrand and Ann Horsefield. She married Ernest Greathead, son of Charles Christopher Greathead and Hannah Harper, on 24 December 1917 in St Mary's Parish Church, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read. the ceremony was witnessed by John Harper and Ernest's sister Hilda Greathead. Ernest was a turner and gave his address as 42 Parker Street, Barnsley. Rose gave hers as 37 Fitzwilliam Street in Barnsley.1,5,6 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 75 Summer Lane, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Ernest Greathead.7 Her husband Ernest died on 6 August 1930 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, aged 42.1,3,8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Rose was listed as living at 102 Sackville Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, and five other people seemingly unrelated.4 Rose died on 8 April 1971 in 18 Victoria Crescent, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, aged 82.1,3,9,10 The will of Rose was proved on 26 July 1971 in Liverpool. Her effects were valued at £3,018.10

Donald Greathead
     Donald Greathead was born on 24 October 1918 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Ernest Greathead and Rose Arrand. In the census of 19 June 1921 in 75 Summer Lane, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Ernest Greathead.4 He was Joined Aux Air Force end of 1938 (616 Squadron) in 1938.3 He married Vera Maw on 7 November 1941 in Doncaster Register Office, Doncaster, Yorkshire, England.1,5,6,7 He and Vera Greathead were divorced in 1947 Vera left Donald with baby Anthony when he was about six weeks old. After the split with Donald, Vera moved back live with her parents and Donald moved back to Barnsley.8,3 He married Margaret Hirst in 1956 in Harrow, London, England.9 In 2002 electoral list Donald was listed as living at 4 Bradshaw Avenue, Riddings, Alfreston, Derbyshire, England, with his wife Margaret until his death in 2005.3,10 He was a glass designer and decorator, he also worked for GEC Holborn designing lighting fittings for public buildings, and worked part time teaching and lecturing at Rolls Royce. Donald was suffering from Cardiomypathy which is apparantly an hereditory disease.3 Donald died on 20 January 2005 in Riddings, Alfreston, Derbyshire, England, aged 86 his funeral was held on 31 January 2005.11,12

In the census of 19 June 1921 in 75 Summer Lane, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Ernest Greathead.4 He married Maureen Amy Lowe in 1956 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England.5 In 2002 electoral list Dennis was listed as living at 57 Vernon Way, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, with his wife Maureen until 2008.6,7 His wife Maureen died on 10 April 2013 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England.8,9 Dennis died on 7 January 2017 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, aged 96 peacefully after a long battle with Parkinsons.10,11 Dennis was buried on 3 February 2017.1 His estate was probated on 12 September 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne.12

The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Goulding and Ida Goulding. Albert was a piano and organ repairer living at 46 Shambles Street in Barnsley.      Harold Goulding was born in May 1915 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Albert Goulding and Esther Greathead. He joined the West Riding Constabulary serving at Castleford, Southowram, Brighouse. Next came call up to serve in the Second World War, serving in the Far East.1,3 He married Edith Armitage in 1946 in St Anne in the Grove, Southowram, Yorkshire, England, Harold had met Edith while he was a policeman in Southowram.4,3 Returning to the police force he then served at Mexborough, Ossett (nr Wakefield) and Pateley Bridge from where he retired from the Police Force in 1963.3 His wife Edith died on 2000.3 Harold died in August 2008 in Halifax Hospital, Halifax, Yorkshire, England, aged 93.3

He trained as a waiter at the Gleneagles Hotel before the war, however after the war lived at Hornsey.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Frank was listed as living at Beacon Hotel, Tilford Road, Haslemere, Surrey, England, Frank was a waiter at the hotel presumably living in.4 Frank died in 1974 in Gipping, Suffolk, England.3

     John Storer was born on 18 November 1897 in 431 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Walter Storer and Sarah Ann Britt. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 431 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Walter Storer.1,3 John left school on 18 November 1910 aged 13 from Standard VI. He started work on his fifteenth birthday at Messrs Walker & Hall, Silversmiths and Cutlers in Howard Street in Sheffieldas a warehouse youth in the Holloware Department. He then was a service assistant for eighteen months until May 1914. Then he moved on to be a warehouse clerk in the silver fancy goods for a further eighteen months until November 1915. He then spent fourteen months until 14 January 1917 as a showrom junior clerk and salesman.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 433 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Walter Storer John was at school.4 Jack joined Her Majesties Forces on 14 January 1917 as a clerk and was discharged in 1918 with a gratuity of £40 as being no lnger physically fit for war service. He started work for Messrs Craven Ltd in Darnall as a wages clerk. This role was terminated by notice on 11 May 1922 as the firm was short of work. Joahn signed on as unemployed on 27 May 1922.1 He married Hilda Greathead, daughter of Charles Christopher Greathead and Hannah Harper, on 11 April 1925 in St George's, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Frank Greathead and Nellie Holling. John was a clerk and gave his address as 13 Windermere Road, Millhouses, Sheffield, Hilda lived at 42 Parker Street.1,5 John died on 20 August 1928 in Electric Works, Walker and Hall Ltd, Howard Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, aged 30 from a heart attack, which was described on the certificate as Natural Causes, Endocarditis and Syncope. He had suffered from rheumatic fever when he was young. There was an inquest held into his death on 22 August 1928 and his certificate was signed by the Coroner for City of Sheffield.1,6
