John Greathead
     John Greathead was born on 3 April 1916 in Auckland, Durham, England.4 He was the son of William Edward Greathead and Cicely Attle. He married Ruth Belton, daughter of J W Belton, in 1940 in Durham, England, Performed by Rev E W Ewbank of Bishop Auckland. The bride wore dress of blue morocain with accessories to tone. Carried pink carnations. Attended by sister Miss Eva Belton who wore gown of green morocain and carried pink carnations and white roses. George Greathead was best man. Reception followed at Carwood Methodist schoolroom.5,6 He died in March 1989 in Durham, England, aged 72.7

     Joseph Edward Stones married Annie Headon Varley in 1908 in Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.2 Joseph was a coalminer at the time of his son Cyril's birth in 1909.3 He died before 1936 Joseph was maimed and killed by lead poisoning while working in a lead mine.1,3

     Walter Storer was born on 30 December 1863 in Aucklands Yard, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England.4,5 He was the son of Joseph Storer and Ellen Holmes.3 He married Sarah Ann Britt on 13 September 1885 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Hill and Emily Storer. Walter was a clerk living in Lordsmill Street and Sarah lived at Church Alley.6 Walter was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 19 Durrant Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, Walter was a telegraph clerk living with his wife and son and an unnamed daughter who was listed as under one year old. The family had a young fourteen year old girl as their general servant.7 Walter was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 431 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, Walter was a clerk in manufacturing living with his wife and family.8,9 Walter was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 433 Shoreham Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, Walter was a clerk living with his wife and five of his children, his son-in-law and grandson in their six roomed home. Walter and Sarah had eight children, three of which died before 1911. One was the infant girl who appeared in the 1891 census.10 He was a clerk, working at Walker and Halls, Howard Street, Sheffield. in 1922.8 He died in 1927 in Blaby, Leicestershire, England.1,11
