     Charles Alfred Greathead was born on 22 August 1932 in Stepney, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Thomas George Greathead and Lilian Ferris. He married Olga J Day in 1954 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England, Olga was Charles's first wife.3,2 He married Audrey W Wint in 1982 in Poplar, London, England, Audey was Charles's second wife.4,2 He died in March 2006 in Tower Hamlets, London, England, aged 73.5,6 He was buried in 2006 in St Nicholas Church, Chadlington, Oxfordshire, England, Although he died in London he wanted to be buried near his parents.7

Geoffrey Greathead
      Geoffrey birth appears not to have been registered until 7 Nov 1924. His birth and death certificates both state date of birth as 24 April 1921.1,2 Geoffrey Greathead was the son of Thomas George Greathead and Lilian Ferris. He witnessed the marriage of Lilian Maud Greathead and Leslie Gordon Fuller on 26 February 1944 in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, England.3,1 He married Madeline Blanche Thresher, daughter of James Thresher, on 18 June 1949 in Register Office, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by F Thresher and T G Greathead. Madeline was a hospital laundry hand. Geoffrey lived at Sarsgrove Bungalows, Chipping Norton and was a wireman electrician.1,4 The young couple answered a newspaper advertisement for rented flat and set up home there with their young daughter Larraine. Little did they know that their landlady was a German spy. Madeline wrote up her story which I have included in the website. For more information on this story, see Russian Spies.1 He died on 7 October 1992 in Horton General Hospital, Banbury, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, England, aged 71 from disseminated prostatic carconoma. He was living at 21 Hannis Road, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.5

     Frederick Greathead was born on 8 March 1921 in Easington, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of Anthony Greathead and Elizabeth Grainger. He died on 3 October 2005 in Charlotte Grange Care Home, Flaxton Street, Hartlepool, Durham, England, aged 84.3,4 The will of Frederick was proved on 30 January 2006 at Newcastle upon Tyne to Thomas Winston Duck.5

     George Greathead was born on 1 June 1919 in Easington, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of Anthony Greathead and Elizabeth Grainger. It was believed that George was married but living in a home in 2003.3 He died in July 2005 in Hartlepool, Durham, England, aged 86.4

He married Alma Easton, daughter of Henry Easton and Lena ..., in 1948 in Nuneaton Registry Office, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England.3,1 He died on 12 February 1989 in 17 Mapleton Drive, Norton, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, aged 69.1,4,5 He did not leave a will. Administration papers were issued on 20 March 1989 in Newastle upon Tyne. His effects were described at not exceeding £70,000.5
