     Martha Foxlow Greathead was born on 30 September 1828 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of John Greathead and Eliza Falkner.1 She was baptised on 24 December 1828 in St John, Manchester, Lancashire, England.2 In the census of 6 June 1841 in Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the daughter of John Greathead.3 She married George Taylor, son of Francis Taylor, on 4 October 1849 in St John, Manchester, Lancashire, England, after a licence had been issued. George was a commercial traveller and gave his address as 108 Oldham Road. His father Francis Taylor was a sop keeper. Martha gave her address as Rochdale Road. Her father John Greathead was listed as a Gentleman.      George Taylor was born in 1820 in Tivenderby, Lincolnshire, England.1 He was the son of Francis Taylor.2 He married Martha Foxlow Greathead, daughter of John Greathead and Eliza Falkner, on 4 October 1849 in St John, Manchester, Lancashire, England, after a licence had been issued. George was a commercial traveller and gave his address as 108 Oldham Road. His father Francis Taylor was a sop keeper. Martha gave her address as Rochdale Road. Her father John Greathead was listed as a Gentleman. They had a servant Harriet Ragg and a nursery maid Mary A Ragg.7 George was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in 51 Romford Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, George was a provision agent living with his wife and three daughters.8 George was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Lane End, Cheadle, Cheshire, England, George was a Commission agent provision living with his wife and daughter Caroline with one servant Harriet Ragg.9 George died on 12 April 1885 in Mayfield Grove, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, England.1,10,11 Administration papers were issued with a will on 28 May 1885 in Chester to his widow Martha his estate was valued at £562 13/6. He was described as a Provision Merchant.11

     Mary Ann Taylor was born about 1852 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of George Taylor and Martha Foxlow Greathead.1 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 51 Romford Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Taylor.2 She married James Arthur Taylor in 1879 in Chorlton, Lancashire, England, Both of their surnames were Taylor.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Hulme Bank, Railway Side, Cheadle, Cheshire, England, she was listed as the wife of James Arthur Taylor.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 37 Ryland Street, Salford, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the wife of James Arthur Taylor James was described as a market porter living with his wife a laundress.
