     Edwin Jacob was born in 1889 in Camberwell, London, England.1,2 He was the son of William John Jacob and Fanny Elizabeth Molyneux.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 13 Tyrrell Road, Camberwell, London, England, he was listed as the son of William John Jacob.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 13 Tyrrell Road, Camberwell, London, England, he was listed as the son of William John Jacob Edwin was listed as Edward and was a school boy.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 29 Gerrard Street, Islington, London, England, he was listed as the brother of William Molyneux Jacob William and his three brothers Garrard, Septimus and Edwin lived together in a seven roomed home. William was a commercial traveller in embroidery, Garrard was a counter clerk in the post office, Septimus was a salesman shop fitter and Edwin was in Amanuensis shipping.5

They were never married and Shirley never met her father.2 She married Alfred John Carter, son of Floyd William Carter and Louisa Rachel Greathead, in 1948.1 She married Paul Rupright in October 1973 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.1,2 She died on 11 March 1996 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA, aged 67 of an aneurysm. She was a very talented pianist and organist, attended the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago when she graduated from High school. She played for weddings, funerals, was the organist at the Christian Science Church in Harvey, Illinois for 40 years. She was very involved in theatre groups as the rehersal pianist and in the orchestra.2
