Ronald Okeden Alexander was born on 7 August 1888 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.1 He was the son of John Abercromby Alexander and Mary Parry Okeden. In the census of 31 March 1901 in 11 Alexandra Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire, England, he was listed as the son of John Abercromby Alexander.2 He married Gertrude Williams on 19 February 1917 in Christ Church, Broadway, Westminster, London, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by C Annie Williams and A Alexander. Ronald was a Lieutenant Colonel in 24th Canadian Battalion DSO. His father John Abercrombie Alexander was retired fron Colonial service. Gertrude's father Lennox Waldron Williams was the Bishop of Quebec.3 Ronald served in WW1 as Major General in the Canadian Army. He witnessed the probate of the estate of John Abercromby Alexander on 25 September 1926.4 Ronald was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 1 June 1931 in 3 Academy Street, Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, Ronald was a Lt Col in Canadian Army living with his wife and three children.5 Ronald died on 27 July 1949 in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada, aged 60.6,1 Ronald was buried in Royal Oak Burial Park Cemetery, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.1
