Eleven servants completed the household.5 Henry died in 1885 in Walsingham, Norfolk, England.1

Humphrey Francis William Bircham was born in 1875 in Llanthetty, Breconshire, Wales.1,2 He was the son of Francis Thomas Bircham and Edith Parry Okeden.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in St John's Mount, Brecknock, Brecknockshire, Wales, he was listed as the son of Francis Thomas Bircham Humphrey was a scholar.3 He attended Eton College from September 1887 to July 1893 and then went onto the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.4,5 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Gwentland, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, he was listed as the son of Francis Thomas Bircham he was a student.6 He married Gladys Violet Willes in 1908 in St George Hanover Square, London, England.1,7 Humphrey was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 4a Lower Belgrave Street, St George Hanover Square, London, England, Humphrey was a regular Army Captain in the 60th Rifles living with his wife and a cook and parlourmaid in their eight roomed home.8 Humphrey died on 23 July 1916 in Pozieres, France, Humphrey was Lieutenant Colonel, commanding 2nd Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps in 1916 and was awarded D.S.O.4 Humphrey was buried in Corbie Communal Cemetery, Somme, Picardie, France.4
