The ceremony was witnessed by Ruth Ellen Lemon and Ernest Henry Lemon. Frederick was a Tanner and his father Samuel a Gardener. He was the son of George Samuel Baker and Emma Sarah Baker in the 1891 census in 1 Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He was the son of George Samuel Baker and Emma Sarah Baker in the 1901 census in New Road, Chilworth, Surrey, England.4 He died on 30 November 1917 Lance Corporal Arthur Baker was serving with 5th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment Number 25350 and died at the Battle of Cambrai.5 Arthur is remembered on the Cambrai Memorial in Louveral. He is also remembered on the plaque in St Thomas Church, Chilworth and on Shalford War Memorial.

Arthur was a Bakers Assistant.6 Arthur sailed from Southampton on 23 May 1911 on board Ascania bound for Quebec in Canada. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Hogsflesh and Maria Louisa Dodd. George was a labourer like his father James Hogsflesh and Martha's father Joseph Harwood.
