Ann was a widow living with her children.4 She appeared in the household in the 1861 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England, and is listed as his sister. Of Thomas Mercer a widower aged 58 also her children George and Henry were with her.5 She was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in Blackheath, Surrey, England. Ann was living with her son Henry who was an agricultural labourer.6 She died in 1876 in Hambledon Union, Hambledon, Surrey, England.7,3 She was buried on 18 February 1876 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3

     Harry Albert Wheeler was born in 1880 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Harry Wheeler and Mary A Webb Thomas.1 He was the son of Harry Wheeler and Mary A Webb Wheeler in the 1881 census in Grocer Shop, Wonersh Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 Harry joined the employ of Canadian Pacific Railway around 1899 and worked for 15 years at their London Office and was held in highest esteem.4 He married Mary Louisa Anne Beazley in 1907 in St George Hanover Square, London, England.5,6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in St Martha's Cottage, North Road, Woking, Surrey, England. Harry was a railway clerk for the Colonial railway living with his wife and small son.7 Harry enlisted in October 1914 into the Army.4 He died on 1 December 1917 in France he was Private 538353 1/6th London Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps. It is understood from a newspaper article in Surrey Advertiser and County Times that in a letter addressed to his wife he died instantly while in action and could have suffered no pain.8,4 The Surrey Advertiser and County Times of 15 December 1917 reported that on the previous Wednesday Mr and Mrs H Wheeler of Wonersh had received the sad news of their son Harry's death.4 He was buried in Hermes Hill British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.8 His estate was probated on 23 August 1918 in London. Administration papers were issued to his widow Mary Louisa Anne Wheeler. His estate was valued at £291 12s 11d. His usual address was 78 Gladsmuir Road, Highgate.5

Harry was a railway clerk for the Colonial railway living with his wife and small son.4 Her husband Harry died on 1 December 1917 in France.5,6 Mary Louise was paid a war gratuity on 3 July 1916 of £6 5s 9d and a further £14 on 12 December 1919.7 She received the probate of the estate of Harry Albert Wheeler on 23 August 1918.1

     Harry Wheeler was born in 1856 in Bramley, Surrey, England.1,2 He married Mary A Webb Thomas in 1879 in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales.1,3 Harry and Mary came to Wonersh shortly after their marriage. Harry was the Secretary of the Congregational Church from the start when it was opened on 22 September 1880. For many years he was also Superintendent of Shamley Green Congregational School.4 Harry was the secretary of the Congregational Church in Wonersh when it opened on 22 September 1880 and for many years he was also Superintendent of Shamley Green Congregational Sunday School.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in Grocer Shop, Wonersh Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Harry was a Grocer living with his wife and son.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Post Office and Shop, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Harry was a Grocer and Postmaster living with his wife and one general servant - Ruth Nightingale.7 When Civil Parishes were established in 1894, Harry became Parish Clerk and Assistant Overseer and water rate collector a position which he retained until his death.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Grocers Shop, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Harry was Grocer living with his wife, daughter and one domestic servant - Annie Sopp.8 Harry relinquished his position as post master in 1903 to take up business at the Surrey Trading Stores which he had built.9 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Glencoe, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Harry was an Assistant Overseer Poor living with his wife, married daughter and grandaughter. William was a labourer living with his wife, children and sister Rose.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England. William was an agricultural labourer living with his wife, children and mother.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England. William was a dairyman living with his wife, children and grandson Charles.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in The Cottage, The Platt, Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England. William was a dairyman living with his wife, daughter Annie and her family.7 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England. William was a dairyman living with his wife. Their married children and sister Fanny Davey re listed as being with them but I am not sure| William was a compositor and married.8 He died on 4 November 1915 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, William's death was reported in the Surrey Advertiser of Monday 8 November 1915. It stated he was aged 72 and lived on Wonersh Common. He had been a resident of Wonersh for over half a century and for the past thirty years carried on the business of a dairyman. He left a widow, son and daughter.1,9 He was buried on 5 November 1915 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 171 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.10
