He was baptised on 5 February 1906 in St Mary, Lewisham, London, England, his father was a bank manager and the family lived in 163 Rushey Green.2 He was the son of Lewis Henry Salmon and Alice Maud M Salmon in the 1911 census in 191 Rushey Green, Catford, London, England.3 John enlisted into Queens Royal West Surrey regiment in Guildford on 23 August 1926, he was a bank clerk.4 In 1938 Louis and Alice Salmon with their son John were living at Green Lane Farm in Shamley Green.5 He married Aileen Eizabeth Gahagan, daughter of George Alfred Mayes Gahagan and Mabel Burtt, on 1 November 1941 in Surrey, England.6 He died on 30 September 1942 in Egypt at age 39 he was a Captain in The Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey) 1/5th Battalion RE No 89180.7 He was buried in El Alamein Cemetery, El Alamein, Mutruh, Egypt, in plot XX C12.7,8

George Murray Milne was born circa 1917. He was the son of Thomas McLaren Milne and Jean Campbell Leslie ... He was a Second Lieutenant 113745 Queens Royal Regiment2/6th Battalion. He was among those reported missing in France since 20 May 1940 in The Surrey Advertiser of 21 June 1941 and his death was presumed as being on 20 May 1940 from wounds received on or near that date. He was the only son of Thomas MLaren Milne of Thomas McLaren and Co; 10 Bothwell Street, Glasgow and Carronbank, Helensburgh and Mrs Thomas McLaren Milne of Glenbrittle, Wonersh Park in Wonersh, Surrey.1,2 He was buried in Abbeville Communal Cemetery, Abbeville, France, in plot 5 row H grave 14.1

Thomas, a ship broker, Jean and their daughter Agnes a student arrived in Southampton on 14 July 1936 n board arlanza they gave their address as Carren Bank in Helenbrough.1 She appeared on the census of 29 September 1939 in the household of Jean Campbell Leslie Milne and Thomas McLaren Milne in Bramley Grange Hotel, Bramley, Surrey, England, Thomas was a retired ship broker.23 Jean was listed as age 65 giving her address as Chalk Barton in West Horsley when she left Southampton bound for Wellington in New Zealand on board Mataroa on 22 October 1948.4 Jean was listed on the ships manifest as leaving Southampton on 25 November 1955 on board Williem Huys bound for Djakarta giving her address as c/o Thos Cook & Son Ltd Berkeley Street, London W1. She arrived back in Southampton 11 January 1956. Her address was given as Semmering, Arkley in Hertfordshire. She was listed as a housewife but strangly also as single rather than widowed.4,1 She died in 1975 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England.5
