Joseph George Greathead was born on 23 April 1868 in Canada.1 He was the son of Joseph Greathead and Elizabeth Baker. In the census of 2 April 1871 in Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada, he was listed as the son of Joseph Greathead.2,3 In the census of 7 April 1891 in Saugeen, Ontario, Canada, he was listed as the son of Joseph Greathead.4 He married Isabella Dunbar, daughter of Alexander Dunbar and Elizabeth Shand, on 17 February 1892 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, Joseph was a mariner. The ceremony was itnessed by John McKay of Port Elgin and Jessie Dunbar of Southampton.5 Joseph died on 1 September 1892 in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, aged 24 Sadly Joseph died before his son was born. He died from exposure on the beach near Southampton following the sinking of the Nettie Woodward in Lake Heron the night before on which he had been serving. This tragedy is commemorated in Bruce County Museum.6,1,7,8,9

Douglas W Richardson was born about 1912.1 He married Mary Crispin Dibley, daughter of Edward Dibley and Sarah Ann Verrill, in 1943 in Crosby, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was an architect working for Swansea city councils.1 Douglas died about 1954 aged 42 of a heart attack when Rosemary was aged 10.1
